Wanted to know if it makes sense to take the competitors sites pixel and use that as part of my ads so anybody who has been to their site and pops onto facebook will see our ads? Does that make sense?

FB issues one retargeting pixel per account so it's unlikely you have access to your competitor's pixel
Of course you can scrape their page or group and run ads to their fans/group members.
Then you can then retarget them

yes it makes sense but wouldnt that be troublesome? You should just advertise it to a lot of websites and let them click your ad. once they visit your website, you can retarget them
