Facebook Pages vs Facebook Groups, Which Works Better?

Hi everyone,
I’ve been trying to understand which works better on Facebook for building a community or promoting content.
Some people say Facebook Groups get better engagement, while others prefer Facebook Pages.
From your experience:
Which one performs better for you?
Are groups still powerful for organic reach?
What strategy has worked best?
Interested to hear your thoughts.
If you want to reach your audience, then facebook group works for you very fast. Because gathering members for a Facebook group is too easy.

From what I’ve seen, Facebook Groups usually get better engagement than Pages. The algorithm pushes group posts more because they’re community-focused.

Pages are still good for branding and ads, but groups work better for organic reach and discussions.

Best strategy in my experience is using both: a Page for content/ads and a Group to build the community.

Groups seem to have better organic interaction since members actually want to be part of the discussion. Pages are still important, especially for ads and official content.

Groups foster better interaction and a greater sense of community, while pages primarily serve advertising and branding purposes.

If you want to create a community, it's best to start with a group, so members can participate and have an active community. Later, if your community is well established, create a page with the most relevant posts to reach more people.

If possible, create both. Use the fanpage to upload information about your promotions and content, and lead the followers of that page to a group where they can freely discuss your topic

If you use it for advertising purposes, the page will be more effective.

Profiles get far more reach than pages or groups. Run tests and you'll see assuming your profile friends arent all spammy and they are actual people. Organic reach which keeps dropping across the board though.

I used to have half a dozen groups and pages all around 500k. Got my account suspended. Their reason was that i was posting copyrighted content when it was 100% original. I sent them them the original content to prove it was mine and they didnt care even though you follow all their rules. At that time i was spending close to 10k a month on ads. I've spoken with dozens of other marketers who've had similar issues. You spend all that time building assets on there only to have them taken away.

I still use facebook but i run paid ads only and take the users offsite to my own web properties. Most group and page owners you can make deals with to run promotions sometimes for free. Its the same with all social sites.

Even the mighty Buzzfeed found out the hard way. Use socialmedia for traffic shortterm traffic boosters but try not to rely on them only. Focus on SEO, making agreements with other site owners to crosspromote and learn how to run paid ads profitably. Paid ads wont ever die as people still need to monetize their own traffic.

In my opinion, groups would be more effective.

Groups (best for engagement & community)
Pages (best for scale & ads)

Organic reach on Pages is low unless you use Reels or ads
Groups still get better organic engagement, but growth is slower
