Hi everyone,
I’ve been trying to understand which works better on Facebook for building a community or promoting content.
Some people say Facebook Groups get better engagement, while others prefer Facebook Pages.
From your experience:
Which one performs better for you?
Are groups still powerful for organic reach?
What strategy has worked best?
Interested to hear your thoughts.

From what I’ve seen, groups usually get better organic engagement because members are more active. Pages are still useful for branding and ads, but groups feel more community-driven.

Both are good, but which one is better depends on Facebook's current situation and your advertising strategy.

For example, if you're building a long-term strategy for 3 or 5 years, Facebook groups will help you build a very good and long-term customer base.
Conversely, Facebook pages are more suitable for short-term advertising campaigns.

It depends on your goal.
Facebook Pages are better for running ads and building a brand.
Facebook Groups are better for engagement and building a community.
Many marketers use both: run ads with a Page and build trust through a Group.

It depends on your goal. If you focus on selling products or building a brand, a Page will be better. With a Page, you have full control over the content and can build a loyal audience over time. If you want to develop a community where members can share content and contribute, then a Group would be more suitable.

Groups usually see more activity because members like to comment and join discussions. Pages are still useful for posting content and showing the brand, but the reach is often limited. Many people focus on groups to build engagement & community.

In my experience on Facebook, groups generally have better natural engagement than pages because posts are more easily reached by members within the group. Pages are still useful for branding and running ads, but if the goal is discussion and community, groups are usually more effective. I've seen many people combine pages and groups to leverage both.

In my opinion:
  • Facebook Pages: Best for ads and branding, but lower organic reach.
  • Facebook Groups: Best for community and engagement, but cannot run ads directly.
=> Summary:
1. Pages = Ads & branding
2. Groups = Community & engagement.

From what I’ve seen, groups usually get better organic engagement because people interact more naturally there. Pages are still useful, especially if you plan to run ads or build a brand presence.

Best strategy I’ve seen is using both, page for the official content and ads, group for community and discussions.

From my experience, groups often achieve stronger organic engagement because members tend to interact and participate more actively. Pages are still valuable for branding and running ads, but groups usually create a stronger sense of community and discussion.

Facebook Groups usually get better organic engagement because members receive more notifications and discussions feel more personal.
Facebook Pages are still great for branding, ads, and reaching new audiences, but organic reach can be harder without strong content.
A strategy that works well for many people is using both:
• Use the Page for content, reels, and promotion
• Use the Group to build discussion and community
Groups are still powerful if they stay active and provide real value to members.

Facebook groups generally offer better interaction and community building, while Facebook Pages are more suitable for branding and advertising, and the most effective strategy currently is to combine personal profiles to attract followers and then direct them to groups to increase engagement and conversions.

In my experience groups still grow organically, pages barely do. They also have a better reach. However, if you want to accomplish link clicks groups are basically a no go

In my opinion, you should combine both because each has its own advantages. Use the page to run ads, then direct customers to the group.

You can build your brand through your fan page, and simultaneously advertise to increase reach and direct traffic to Facebook groups so they receive daily updates. Create daily comments to retain existing customers.

Best strategy: Use the Page to post content + bring followers to the Group to increase engagement.

In my opinion, you should combine both methods because each has its own advantages. Use that page to run ads, then direct customers to the group to receive daily updates and create daily comments to increase engagement.

Both are good, each serving a different purpose depending on your intended use.

Groups still feel more alive because members can post, comment, and start discussions, so the feed activity stays higher. Pages behave more like a content hub or ad channel. For organic interaction, groups usually move faster, especially if questions or discussions are posted regularly. A setup seen working quite often is keeping a page for the public face, then letting the real interaction happen inside the group.

Groups get more reach and engagement. Pages mostly need ads now to grow.

Good combo is page for brand and group for community.
