But don't forget that FB pages build reputation and authoritativeness for a project.

If I want to build a serious project for certain niches, having a huge FB page it's a positive point for the whole strategy.

For other niches, for example gaming, this is almost the same, but with Twitter instead of FB.

Each niche has a preferred SM network and being reputed there gives credibility to your project.

This is why many people just create their FB page, inject a 1K users through FB ads, almost from day 0 of their company.
