I have a question for you guys familiar with fb pages reach etc.

I have been posting my own domain on my facebook page and have been getting usually around 10-50k reach per link. My domain name is different to the name of my fb page.

I then decided to post a mylikes link, where it was fbpage.me and the reach of that link got almost 300k reach. This isn't a lucky one time thing as this kind of reach for mylikes links are consistent and keep happening..

Why do my links do poorly and mylikes links do well! Help!

Yeah, we've demonstrated that domain penalties do exist on Facebook. It could be a few things: Overly spammy website covered in ads; Facebook has had some sort of issue indexing the website (e.g. lots of 404 errors or slow load time); You've hit some sort of limit/triggered a flag to cause a review.

How does the engagement/click through rate look on your poor reach links?

If you stop posting your domain for a week or so there's a chance you'll get an improvement again, but it may not last.

The reach to your mylike links will drop too if keep post the links to the same domain.

Look below....no idea why it posted the same answer twice

Engagement isn't that good at all on my own domain links. Reach is usually around 10-30k honestly as well..Which is ridiculous because the mylikes links are getting almost 200k reach easily with heaps of engagement.

Could you elaborate on the reasons for this a little more?
Like I completely do not understand why? The site has been live for 6 months...

Work out the engagement rate and click through rate of your domain posts and your mylike posts - regardless of the reach.

Engagement rate = Engagement total / Post Reach
Click through rate = Link Clicks / Post Reach

Okay and when thats done....?

Ive checked with numerous databases etc about whether my domain has been flagged as spammy/has any malware on it. And its all clean. And I have continuously posted it on my page twice a day for the last few months, with this type of reach too. Yet I post a new link and bam its reach is insane. I still dont understand..

I'm asking for those numbers so I can help clarify whether it is a domain penalty or poor content, but I suspect it is a domain penalty.

No idea what the databases are that you're looking at and why, but Facebook does manual reviews of pages/websites. If they suspect you're just trying to cash in on a monetization program they'll cut your reach back.

The "good reach" you're receiving on alternative links is probably going to be short-lived. As I suggested, cut back on posting links for a week or so and try posting your domain again - probably less frequently.

If you feel comfortable posting your page + website, I could probably advise a little more definitive.

I'd tell you to PM me/I would PM you but we're unfortunately not cool enough yet to do PMs.
