Facebook Moving To Pay To Play Model

Can people really complain when they're making money from them? Quit being a bitch and stop taking platforms for granted.

Way to go on missing the entire point. Your missing the potential fact that if this model is rolled out to the USA the possibility exists that smaller publishers or bloggers can get priced out of the market.

Then those blogs should adapt to the new change and work on reaching other platforms.

I hate when people feel entitled to a platform and then get outraged when that platform changes. Like when YouTube lowered their CPM, people attacked YouTube like it was their god given right to get a set CPM and that it was YouTube's fault.

Diversifying your traffic/ income streams is basic business 101.

The websites so difficult to read, whats it say?

Yeah I do see your point. I am not outraged as I have diversified traffic sources and multiple sources of income. I only posted the link for intelligent discussion.

Seriously?

Seriously?

Yes,,,, the moving scroll bars, the type face/font size/lack of headers and formatting are all terrible. the post was wrote by Tyler Durden almost looked like fake news to me. It doesn't even explain in detail what the pay-to-play is.

I assume it's going to be similar to what they tried a few years ago where they had a rocket icon for discovery/exploring. They had the main feed which was more based around friends and the discovery feed which was for groups/businesses/commercial, it wasn't a success then, I doubt it will be successful now.

In my opinion this isnt a smart move from Facebook , nobody wants to see those boring ads all over the place because people want to see things they like not buying stuff all over facebook marketplace ,if this thing happens i am sure everyone on facebook will learn where explore feed is and will surf on it more than in the news feed

Yeah I agree with you that this isn't a smart move. As I see it if its not broke don't fix it.
I could be wrong but I think the news feed will basically become links to the facebook marketplace where the highest paying advertiser gets a spot.
In effect no longer news just a literal link to whatever is being promoted, for the purpose for keeping people engaged in facebook.

Yeah that is true i have already saw some of my friends (not publishers) surfing in this explore feed shit , i think this thing will not be beneficial for facebook at all because when people will see where the real interaction is ( i mean 'tagging ' commenting' liking ') through fb pages and groups they will go after it

i already posted a topic about this...

my country got explore feed and all marketers are suffering... all major pages are losing their engagement and reach because of that

there is a popular page here that has 300k+ likes and used to have about 20k+ likes and 200+ comments per post at least, now it has 500-2000 likes and 20 comments per post

people were busting their asses off to make great content and great pages just so that facebook can shut them down since they are not boosting posts and paying, because they did it by investing their skill and time instead of money...

now, to be in news feed, you have to boost posts or they will not show there

and dont say that it is not like that, because if it is not, you still did not get the full package explore feed like my country did...

facebook is testing this option in third world countries + my country which might be poor compared to other central european countries, but it is nowhere near third world

This is the last article i read about this

I don't see the tragedy here. This means that small publisher/bloggers will need to focus more on micro influencers (personal profileswith a lot of friends) and Fb groups + effective ads. Practically everyone who understands Fb does the same already.

People will need to get on their asses, and start learning.

facebook be like right now...
