Got a page and group for my business. About 3,000 on the page and 800 in the group.
Nobody interacting with either, frustrating as hell. Any tips to improve interaction?
Hey man, I totally get how frustrating that can be. Having a solid number of followers but zero interaction feels like talking to a wall, right? Been there before, but there are ways to turn things around.
Here’s what’s worked for me:
1. Make It About Them, Not You
If most of your posts are just broadcasting updates, people won’t engage. Instead of “Check out our new product,” try:
“What’s one thing you wish [your niche] businesses did better?”
“Drop a GIF that describes your experience with [your industry]!”
People love sharing opinions when you make it fun.
2. Exclusive, ‘Must-Join’ Content in the Group
Your
group should offer something they can’t get elsewhere. Maybe insider tips, early discounts, or industry insights. If they feel like it’s just another page, they’ll ignore it.
3. Facebook’s Algorithm Loves First-Hour Engagement
The more interaction you get within the first hour, the more reach your post gets. So:
Reply to every comment quickly
Encourage discussions (“Agree or disagree?” “What’s your experience?”)
Tag active members to keep conversations alive
4. Video & Live Content > Static Posts
Facebook prioritizes video, especially
short-form clips & live sessions. Try hopping on live and casually chatting with your audience—it makes your brand feel human.
5. Gamify Engagement
People love challenges. Try:
“First 5 people to comment get a shoutout in tomorrow’s post!”
“Caption this meme – best one gets pinned!”
6. Move Your Page Followers into the Group
Pages have weaker organic reach than groups. Post a
"VIP group invite" with a reason to join (exclusive deals, early access, insider tips).
7. Quick Fix: Reactivate Cold Followers with a Small Boost
If your page/group has been silent for a while, sometimes a
tiny ($5-$10) engagement ad can push content back into people’s feeds and remind them you exist.
Try these out and let me know what works for you! Would love to hear how things go.
