Fb groups aren't trash
I use to generate leads even we can use them to sharw our content and add value to our content.
So post what the users want

I have my own local FB groups, and I'm pretty strict with the kind of posts I accept. I have conversions of up to $1000 from them.

I can concur with you on that! Up to 2 years ago, i made some good money from Facebook groups. Now all of my methods have been patched.

I guess owning your FB group is the way to go, but growing it will take some time.
 
You have to be consistent with a FB group. Also, you have to shower your members in free quality content, and only post your affiliate links after 5 free contents.
 
Depends on the group I guess. Some just have useless spam posts. Some digital marketing groups I joined actually had people having interesting discussions around tips/tricks.
 
I love Facebook groups. I use it long time. everything is ok.
Why you dont love fb groups pal?

Sure, make posts and provide some value then leave some question marks in the mind of your readers and using other accounts mention the service or the product that you want to promote, you need to be creative to make it work, and make sure you make the whole thing look natural
 
It takes more time to find quality closed groups but it's getting harder for bot techniques

this is true - im in 15 DM groups with over 5 million users
posts are good, chat is ok, and engagement varys
