I am been given some designs for Facebook Fan pages but they are built with Flash, everyone knows they are shit for optimisation on a normal site but can you get away with flash on a Facebook fan page?
I would still personally avoid them due to the fact that the amount of people who view facebook pages on iPads & iPhones is huge. These users would not be able to see your custom tab content.
