Facebook buys Whatsapp for $16billion

I think this is a fantastic move from Facebook. They have now just acquired more data on everyone.

What is everyone's thoughts on the new acquisition

Stock went down right after the news, after hour trading at.

Blackberry shares surged almost 10% right after this news: since it added 40+ million users a few months ago with the launch of bum; upward revaluation
 
down 2.4% so far. Very interesting

Quite interesting in my opinion. I wonder what else would they buy before facebook goes down hill

From what I've read, that is estimated to take place around 2017, so they have about 3 more years to do some shopping.
Anyway, FB buying whatsapp is said news. Damn data collectors! :(
 
You see many giant companies like facebook/google buying small app startup for billions of $$$,this is where the money IS.

Facebook, Instagram and now Whatsapp,, Mark has more data than NSA, RAW and ISI combined.
 
What do you guys suppose they're going to do with everyones phone numbers? lol
 
Now I'm just glad I never installed that thing.

On the bright side, kudos to Brian Acton for selling thin air to Mark.
