I never actually had my own application but I've purchased advertising space on other popular applications and it's a hit or miss situation.

As for owning your own application it can be profitable because you can charge other advertisers for advertising space, you can run your own ads, or if you really hit the jackpot you can even have corporate sponsors. It all comes down to how many users you can amass.

You can hire a php programmer to create an app, or there are also firms that specialize in creating facebook apps (facebookster.com).

one of my friends is working on this, we found at some guy that is making 1 million bucks per week (yes no mistakes here) using this concept, the main point is to redirect the users to some cpa offers in somehow, as chimaera says you can post your ads and that kind of stuff there, the only thing here is that you need to create a good aplication that claims too much atention, some online game perhaps, i will be working on my own app in a couple of months stay tuned

i am not related to buy adspace on this applications, have u tried it chimaera15?? nice idea to start making more profit from your cpas

I did have a FB app at one point, and that bad boy was VIRAL! I couldn't believe the speed at which that stupid thing spread. It worked for a while, but when my cpa account got banned, I just stopped using the app. I'll see if I still have the source anywhere. If I do, I'll up it for BHW members.

It would make up to $50 bucks a day, everyday, for zero work. I was offering "free iPhones" in case you were wondering.

It's basically just an iFrame, I'll tell you that right now. It's nothing too special. If you even just google "Facebook Application Code" or similar, I'm sure you'll find a bit of info.

that would be awesome if you have the source code still :)

BTW all the guy thats making the million bucks a week is most likely the creator of the all popular poker application. He gets his members to complete cpa offers in return for points.

But a guy who was making big from cpa offers used the point system, you need to complete an offer to get points. Is that how the code works?

If you haven't seen it, for an interesting look at this, check out part 1 and 2 of Jason Bailey's (chickenhole) videos on Facebook monetization. He goes into the points for offers idea.

I've got a pretty kickass app I'm working on. Should be viral as hell and also be extremely brandable by mainstream companies (due to it's stickiness). Groundworks laid and am interviewing a couple of Indian firms to build it as it's programatically more complex than the norm.

a somewhat simple mmorpg facebook app would be a kickass for it.
    1. Very addicting(people playing this games are zombies, they will do anything to rank high)
    2. Long/infinite playtime

Is it possible to make 1 though? hehe

Okay, so far, no luck, I'll search my backup drives and see if I left it on there. That'll be a few days or so though. For now, just check out hxxp://devel*pers.faceb**k.com/ (*** = o).

It's got a bunch of good info on how to get started.

The mmorpg idea is stellar. I'd be more than happy to look down that avenue.
