I’ve started DropShipping around a month back and it’s going quite decent so far with meta ads. Can anyone please help me with the following query

Will my ad be flagged/ ad account banned if
  1. I completely rip off someone else’s creative and run it
  2. If I slightly edit the creative/tweak the voiceover/ add text to the videos etc

If both are risky, any suggestions on what can be done, as you know it wouldn’t be possible to make creatives initially( real or even AI) for numerous products that you are testing.

Thanks

Copying creatives gets you flagged fast, make quick UGC clips instead.

Straight up ripping someone’s ad is asking for trouble — copyright strikes, takedowns, and creative ID can get your account flagged fast.

Slight edits help a little but won’t guarantee safety — platforms run good reverse detection and voice/video matching.
If you can’t get permission, treat tweaks as temporary tests, not a long term plan.

Straight ripping is risky, even small edits can get flagged—better to tweak enough or use AI/video templates to make it “yours.”

Even minor edits don’t fully protect you; Meta’s AI can still detect copied content.

Using stock footage or AI-generated clips with your own branding is much safer.

Straight rip = banned fast. Slight edits help, but safest bet is unique creatives. Stock clips + voiceovers work for testing

  • You won’t get banned, but your CPM and CPP will be high if your competitors have large budgets — that’s how Facebook’s auction dynamics work.
  • Basically, Facebook interprets the ad content in order to deliver it to the target audience, so small changes will have results similar to point 1. You need to completely change the creative and test it from scratch so your account can learn in its own way.

Now when you copy other people's content. If the ad of the person you copy is not copied, you will not be affected. But I recommend you to create your own content. Do not edit anything when your ad is fine. You can test new content as a backup in case something bad happens.
