A lot of golden nuggets here!
Have some questions. (I'm selling shoes and clothing, WH , started with fb ads 3 years ago)
1. As I saw, your recommend starting with $5 Adsets and then duping them, changing the creatives. Is it a mistake starting campaigns with higher budgets($50) ?
2. Do you create only one campaign and duplicate the adsets inside the campaign or do you create different ones? Especially with the new facebook update where the budget is set and campaign level.
3. We're having trouble scaling. We create some ads that perform really well and bring good results, but after 2 days they spend $40 bucks with no result ( $3/ purchase before that). After we kill the ad and create a similar one, the costs increase by 70-100%. What can we do ?
4.By different creatives you mean shooting 5-7 photos of each product in different positions and use those? We were editing the best photo multiple times so that facebook can recognize it as a new one.
5.As I said in number 3, our biggest problem is consistency. We can't always create ads that perform well. 1 performs really well, 2 perform like shit. Should we approach your strategy? ( starting 1 campaign > 1 adset on $5 > 3 ads with different creatives) and then duplicate the adsets 3 times? I should mention we're using carousels.
6. This is what we're doing right now. Campaign > 1 Adset( 1 day after click or purchase, only on fb) with a budget of around $40 > 1 Carousel Ad. The first one we create for each new products absolutely killes it for the first 2 days, after that it goes crazy and we kill it. We repeat the process by using the same photos but making them so facebook recognizes them as new ones, and change the text creative. We launch it but it performs really awful most of the time. So we're kinda stuck here. What mistakes do you think we're making?
7.Do you think it's better setting a limit/ purchase ? Like using lowest costs but no more than 3$ per purchase. We found some success with this but most of the time it doesn't spend the budget. What do you think?
8. Do you set a schedule for the ads? For example we found that our best selling times are between 4pm and 11pm. Should we make them spend the budget in that timeframe or not? Does it make a difference?
9.We have no experience with cloakers. We used to sell brands before but facebook started shutting us down everytime so we stopped doing that as we were running low on accounts.Do you think a cloaker like fraudfilter could help us? But how could we upload the creatives on facebook( as it contains the brand name and usually gets disapproved instantly and also banned) Is there any way to get past that or we'd need to start getting more accounts and burn through them?
10. Do cloakers work against facebook review bots or mods?
Thank you for this AMA , you are the best
