Not a single country in the world comes even close to the control they applied in China after corona. You basically can't leave your home without a smart phone, and each your move is monitored.

I do not say it is good--I would never ever oblige to such policies and limitations of freedom. BUT, it's a reason why China has 10-20 new cases daily after reopening, when US and other countries have thousands...

I don't think anybody will dispute the fact that China had under-reported their cases. However, I do not doubt their success today. Why? I was visiting a city 2500km away from the epicentre when Wuhan was officially shut down, during Chinese New Year. This was a city that had no cases of Covid-19. What happened in the ensuing days are as follows:

1) Every business was shut with the exception of grocery stores and pharmacies.
2) Hotels were closed to new occupants.
3) People stayed home and only went out to get essentials.
4) Roadblocks were set up at major arteries to screen traffic.
5) There were daily door to door visits by city officials to check if there were fresh outsiders that visited homes.
6) Trains services were gradually stopped, highways were being closed and air travel was restricted (I was lucky to get a flight out).
7) Visitors from Wuhan were immediately sent to a quarantine centre.

While there were a few people caught for visiting friends and relatives and some restaurants caught for illegally hosting dinners, the general population thought it was best for everybody to stay home. Meetings and social gatherings were cancelled.

So far I have not seen any other country (citizens) sacrificing that much freedom for the collective good. Yes, perhaps the virus originated from China, yes perhaps the CCP had withheld information. However, we were there to witness horror videos coming out Wuhan, we were there to cast doubt on their figures, we were there to condemn the CCP, we were there to make derogatory remarks about the Chinese since Jan/Feb. It's almost half a year since and while China has more or less recovered by staying home, the virus still ravages where people prefer freedom, the sun, the sand, etc over the collective health of the population.

For some reason I see some people/governments blaming China/CCP for their woes while doing absolutely nothing to combat the virus and want China to pay. Seems USA is fucked big time by Corona.
Although China might fake the reports that they have, yet USA continue to impress me.
Most cases, most death recorded, still American ignored the threat.

Meanwhile, my country just lift our lockdown orders since we have manage to reduce the cases to only 1 digits and 0 death for nearly 2 weeks now. We are living in lockdown for almost 3 months which greatly reduce the case that we have.

I can see that when the country become so modern its people will become so dumb too.

USA will be able to handle more cases, many African countries with less cases would be so fucked up without support

There is not going to be a second wave, at least in the UK. R rate is between 0.7 and 1 and people with active infection like 1 in 1,000 or less in London.
