So those c**ts have been hacked and now my details are potentially available to identity thief's. That's my full name, address and dob.

Also I have to change my password and make sure I've not used it on any other site.

Finally they still haven't notified me by email of this.

I really feel like a public lawsuit should be put in place as well as a petition to make it illegal for ecommerce sites to request full user details.

This might sound stupid but wtf?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2635053/Use-eBay-Then-change-password-NOW-Site-requests-users-change-personal-details-dont-explain-why.html

So now if my identity gets stolen, who do I go to? Wtf do I do? Why should the public have to suffer because of such a greedy company?

They seem to be taking this very lightly for the multi-billion dollar company that they are.

I would love to see a lawsuit against them.

That's because eBay is a piece of shit they never have gave a fuck about anyone but themselves and they never will!

Wow, I'm surprised that I haven't seen this all over the place. Thats messed up, wouldn't be surprised if there is a class action lawsuit on the way.

I think we should all have a cup of tea, and calm down! Besides OP, in the traditional custom of a black hatter, you were running an eBay stealth account, no?

I'm real surprised that we have not at least gotten an email from them... I have from 3 other sources but eBay has been silent.

Shocked actually.

I just hope they didn't get Paypal info. On the flip side, it might be time to hit up the Deep Web and buy some stolen Paypals for cheap.

100% agree with OP, still nothing from them even acknowledging it. At the very least there should have been a forced password change, but NOTHING.

Oh, but still getting all the bullshit 'offer' emails...

Make sure your ebay password isn't the same as your paypal password or else change it!

Sons of bitches.. We'll need to write a few rip off reports

F*ck eBay. I owe them like $300 and I have no plans on paying them since my account is banned.

Unless they try to get it put on my credit LOL :D

eBay is doing what they do best and that is staying silent. If they mass email all their users it would be a horrible event.. but since not a whole lot of the user base knows it's better to stay silent and risk a class action lawsuit that probably cost them very little in the grand scheme of things.

They earn 10+% of every sale they aren't hurting for money haha.

Don't forget to change your paypal passwords as well. And keep changing the passwords (ebay+pp) every 2 months. Don't forget that this hack was done in February, and they are notifying users now after 2+ months. That's height of inefficiency, possible criminal-level carelessness, and extreme stupidity. For this alone they should be taken to courts...

Yes, what else do you need? I'm talking about the UK here. You don't exactly need a lot of details to commit identity theft/fraud.

So, in the UK to take a loan, get a CC or create a business entity, you do not need any kind of identification? :o

Ive not checked to see if i recieved an email but i didnt need too, when i logged on there was a big notification advising me to change password. I carried on to 'my ebay' regardless and still there was a notification at the top of the page
