I?d like to share a little bit with you about how, I believe, is the best way to populate your website with quality content, that engages visitors, and converts using conversational keywords. I personally believe that conversational keywords are a strong basis for any website is going to have legs as to a long-term revenue stream business model.

As I described in my keyword research tutorial, conversational content keywords are a huge part of how one generates the types of keywords that worked very well when building a website. The problem people have, and I hear it over and over again, is how to write content using those keywords for the website.

Writing content for conversational keywords is actually the easiest kind of content to generate and most people can put together 600 to 800 words in under 15 minutes that will work perfectly for the conversational keyword. Without going into specifics, because that always throws people off, I?ll give you some ideas on how that would work.

Let?s start with the way you write. Most people believe they need to write a specific way as is taught by the schools, teachers and perhaps even their parents. There is actually nothing wrong with writing like that and I do that periodically. That can generally throw up writers block because people tend to over think when they are trying to write to satisfy those particular parameters. That is how most people try to write when their starting a website and many, due to the restrictions in that kind of writing, don?t do as well as it like to or even fail completely.

For conversational content keyword writing, you want to write as if you were speaking. The thinking behind conversational keyword writing is that one would write as if they were just talking to somebody sitting on a park bench next to them. It should be something that flows as if you were just chatting as your strolling down the street. One of the easiest ways to do that is just talking to a recording device for using software like Dragon naturally speaking, which is exactly what I?m doing right now. I?m a big fan of Dragon what I am trying to use my conversational keywords because I can speak and talk just as if I was having a conversation with the person sitting right near me.

You can easily slap together a bunch of words, have it make a lot of sense, make it friendly to the search engines such as Google and do it with very little effort by just sitting there with notepad or word open, a headset on and a cup coffee may just the way you like it and put together content after content after content for your websites.

Of course, after you ?write? your article using a recording device or software, you need to set it up properly with H tags, bold words properly and format it so it is professionally looking on your site. That is actually the easy part for most people because you?re following a particular for traditional process.

So if you are of the mindset that you are not creative enough to write content for your website give this a shot. I?ve worked with a lot of different people and have implemented this process with many of them and it?s rare that this is not turn out to be exactly what the doctor ordered when putting content on their websites.

Conversational keyword content writing can boost your websites unique visitors due to the nature of the content being extremely unique and specific to a person?s particular thinking process. As you write your conversational content, post it, and rank it, you will find that many people are going to your site because they search for those particular keywords. What that says is that you?re not the only person that thinks like that.

Take advantage of the way you speak, the way you communicate and some easy software and you be bang out content like Babe Ruth stayed home runs in banking from them.

Do you do any prep work before you start speaking (outline?) or do you ramble then edit after you are finished? I think this is a great way to do content, Ill try it out tonight.

Great post. Whenever I'm reading about a product, I like to read the user reviews which sell me because they speak in a more believable tone.

Crazy as it sounds I do almost no prep... I just start talking about the subject matter. Now, I only build sites where I have an interest in the subject matter and usually have some knowledge of the subject as well so it is not very hard. I do have to periodically reboot during the "writing" but that is pretty rare.

In fact, this was written that way about an hour ago using this exact method above and took me under 6 minutes.

Was the post done completely from Dragon? Or did you go back to edit? I noticed just one grammar error and that's why I am asking. I started writing in a more conversational way, and it brought up my normal 500 word posts to over 1000 words pretty easily. Then I go back and put a couple word headings on each break in the thought process. Ends up looking a lot cleaner too.

Anyone try evernote or something similar to dictate into the phone? I have been wanting to do this while driving.

I made some edits but they were minor in nature. Dragon is not 100% perfect and my voice is hardly perfect for a tool like that but I get about 95% accuracy and the editing is almost insignificant.

The grammar error is surely my error and not Dragon as you have to tell it to put in proper grammar.

I worked for a newspaper for a long time, and we use to call this "bar stool talk" -- the kind of discussion we'd have with a friend or co-worker over a beer after work.

This is what we tried to achieve with articles we wanted people to care about and take action on -- such as contacting their local alderman about getting potholes in their street fixed. This kind of writing is what I try to achieve on my websites, too. It works well if you want to get paid.

My point: Conversational writing convinces people, which means conversions are higher. You also have the benefit of good long tail traffic from Google, too.

    Nice write-up, BassTrackerBoats.

This is a great way to really pump out articles. I usually go back and switch up some points after I'm done using dragon. You will find out that points on the subject come naturally if you just talking without too much planning. Although, your points may be all over the place like mine can get, but a quick 3 minute edit helps!

    Great advice as usual!

I forgot about the power of speech-to-text software. :)

Totally agree about using Dragon. I have a slight Liverpool (UK) accent and yet Dragon still picks up my words most of the time. One tip: I never edit as I go along...I just literally spew my thoughts out as they arrive in my head and then edit at the end, I find it is much quicker and I can now write a 1200 word article in about 10/11 minutes on average.
Dragon happened for me because of some heavy RSI I have had to deal with but honestly, it has changed my online life.

I think this is great advice. It's probably alot easier to do this on topics you are interested in or are experts at. Probably good to start there.

Is Dragon free unlimited? I guess not. I have searched high and low for a tts s/w (with natural voice) for creating vids and good speech to text s/w (both free, of course) but no luck so far. Pls let me know if you guys know of any such thing.
