Extend 'bumping rule' for 'reply to get a review' aka bump my thread

There are a few threads that abuse the so called 'review giveaway', just to keep getting their thread upfront.
Some have an ongoing 'giveaway' so every day people bump the thread.

Reply with 'give me shitty review that cost me nothing or almost nothing'.
You bump the thread and you get 2 shitty links (insert here any shit not worthed even $1).

I dont see anything wrong in that method. If they give non worth link, eventually they would loose the business. i got some review copy and find that quality is good .

thats wrong, that type of give away should not be allow in BST section. Else only shitty service will stay on home section of BST because shit links dosent cost anything to seller and quality service provider thread will drown on 2nd page.

If you see that happening, please report it because it's against the marketplace rules:

Don't request trials/review copies.
The op will post the number of review/trial copies they are willing to give away, if any, and will provide the criteria they require to get a review/trial copy (often these are only for Jr. VIP accounts).

Review copies and trials should not be given out in a draw or at random, we require sellers to specify how many review copies are available and any criteria for which members are eligible. Then the review copies should be given out - in order - to the members who are eligible and request it.

There shouldn't be any ongoing "weekly draws if you put your name here" as it does not fit the above process.

Oh, also - if people are leaving comments on a service after their free review, the rules also state they need to make it very clear that it was a compensated review copy in the post.

Updated 11/12/12 - Going forward BHW will require the disclosure of compensated buyer reviews. This is to include both free and discounted review copies of products and/or services. If you are exchanging services for reviews please be sure to make a short disclosure statement in the review text. Example - "I was given a free review copy in exchange for this review", or "I was offered a discount in exchange for my feedback here".

So, again, if you see people posting reviews after getting review copies like this but not mentioning it, please report it.

Thanks for reporting that and the staff has cleaned that up but yes, offering free review copies and giveaways is fine.

I don't think it is the best business practice as it diminishes the quality of the sales offering but what could I possibly know after being in business on one level or another for 42 years.
