Expired Domains with Web 2.0s - EXPERIMENT

This is something we have been testing for a while now with various sites, just thought I would share some recent results.

• Target keyword has 22,000 searches per month in the UK.
  
• Secondary keywords range from between 1,000 - 8,000

First page for the target keyword is tough. Mainly charities and government sites etc. Actually only two other Commerical entites on P.1

Our money site has a handful of links already pointing to it from a press release - mainly nofollow.

So we took a handful of expired domains with authority backlinks (5 to be exact). Setup accounts with 5 web 2.0 sites;

• weebly.com
• jimdo.com
• webs.com
• hubpages.com
• Tumblr.com

Attached the expired domain to the hosting account (so its the actual URL - i.e. not a site.weebly.com).

Built each site out with 5-7 pages each of relevant content to the money site.

Built Longtail backlinks including the main keyword - NOTE: NEVER using the main keyword alone.

Ran the Expired Domain Web 2.0s through Lindexed to get them indexed again.

Results
7-10 days - Site starts to appear for long tail searches relating to the main keyword
4 weeks (pretty much to the day) - The site appears bottom of page 6 for the main keyword

Action Plan
Increase the Expired Domain PBN to 20 sites with same strategy, focusing on main keyword this time around.
Syndicate a Press Release to dilute keywords and balance out the ********/nofollow links (Usually find a 60/40 ratio works nicely).

I disagree with this. I use exact anchor for all my web 2.0 and PBN links.

Sends the most link juice to that exact keyword. Only seems right to send your best links to your main keyword.
