No. In order to get results, you should chose an expired domain/backlink relevant to your niche.
I mean what if expired domain is having the wokipedia links but the niche is different.

might give a lil boost short term but diff niche means weak relevance so google might not vibe long term. better if the link fits your main site’s theme

Just so you know, I could crawl wikipedia and find thousands of domains with links to them, it is full of links to expired domains. You'd be far better off crawling in your niche and finding domains with links from sites that rank highly in your niche.
People have been told to look at domain auctions and expiring lists too much, they have forgotten that there is a world of great domains out there just waiting for someone to come along and pick them up.

I gave an example of niche mismatch where a 301 redirect likely won’t bring any benefit: from a sushi restaurant website to an auto repair shop. The assumption is that the Wikipedia page should also be in the same niche (sushi, in my example).

If the site lacks authority, wikipedia links won't help in any way. You need other parameters to see if it's worth the effort.

If the expired domain has Wikipedia links but the niche is different, the backlinks won’t help much for SEO in your new niche. They may even be removed or ignored over time due to irrelevance.

If the niche is not related, the value is minimal. The 301 might pass some authority, but relevance matters a lot now. Google could even ignore it or see it as manipulation. Better to use expired domains in the same niche or rebuild them as niche blogs and link naturally.
