Expired domain method

I found an expired domain with a backlink from an high quality news site but the domain doesnt have any traffic anymore and isnt indexed.

Is it worth it to buy the domain? Will that link pass on any power if I redirect the expired domain to my money site?

That's the state of most expired domains.

There is no content hosted so there is nothing that can rank.

If it's healthy, you should be able to re-index it easily and start using it.

Redirect will pass juice, yes.
 
If it's just 1 high quality news site backlink not worth in my opinion.
if the other domains linking to it are decent value I would try giving a shot.

It is available so just the normal cost. My question is if the juice will be passed on to my site even if the expired domain isnt indexed anymore and has no traffic.

It also has some other decent backlinks

I can get a domain name with 100K backlinks in my niche for free(except yearly expenses) is it worth it?

Quantity does not mean much on the surface, here is a quick run-down of things to assess:
  • Check the site history using WaybackMachine, if you seen anything adult/pharma or similar, skip the domain and move to another.
  • Use AHREFS to check anchors, are they niche-specific and related to the site? If not, move on to another domain.
  • Check the link profile via AHREFS, and make sure it looks clean with no spam.
  • Check the drop rate of the domain, has it been dropped and renewed multiple times within a few years? If so, may be best to pick another name.
Checking historical data to make sure all looks clean is vital as you do not want to get a domain that is penalized, and you won’t really know if one is until you buy one and add it to GSC.

What's the number of referring domains it has? Is it niche relevant to your main site?

If the number of referring domains is below 100, then don't bother with redirects and make PBN out of it.

Also, make sure it's as relevant as possible, otherwise you can screw up your website.

Oh and make sure it's completely clean, otherwise (read the line above).

If all checks out, register the domain, rebuild it via Archivarix, let it sit for a couple months and then htaccess redirect it to an internal page regarding the redirected domain.

Make sure that the inner page is properly interlinked for free flow of the juice.
 
Expired domains are useful for obtaining its link portfolio, and distribute all that link juice with a 302.
 
Look whether the blog is worth the price and most expired domains will be the same. however redirect could work

You can have less than 100 referring domains and have much more authority than a domain with 1000 referring domains.

For example, if the backlinks are from the New York Times or similar, they are going to have much more authority than many profile domains, 2.0 blogs, etc.

Hardly. If the domain fits within the criteria that I have mentioned in that post and you are not buying absolute crap, then chance of 100 RD domain being more authoritative than 1K RD is maybe 1 to 50, most likely more.

Also, please, don't patronize me about the domains. :)

Saying 10, 100 or 1000 referral domains without looking at the link profile is irrelevant.

I talk about domains because I have bought many expired domains :)

If you got the domain for free, try to index it and sell it.
 
Return previous content and get a link from a related page
