I recently purchased an expired domain with quite a few RD and solid metrics. The plan is to use it as a money site. It's in a somewhat relatable overarching niche to what I'd like the website to be about. However, the domain name is branded and has nothing to do with the keyword or niche whatsoever.
So my conundrum is choosing if I should make the homepage about my 'main money keyword' or just make the keyword a post. It seems I have two options.
1. Put the main keyword in the homepage article. This causes a couple of issues. My keyword is not in the URL. This could reduce my CTR and possibly make ranking slightly more difficult.
2. Do a blog format and make my main keyword an inner page. This way I get the keyword in the URL but I don't get near as much power as I would being on the homepage.
To note, my keyword is pretty low competition. The #1 and #2 sites are an EMD with around 20 do-follow RD. All of them being garbage directories or inner pages with dozens if not hundreds of external links.
I know I'm likely overthinking this but I'd still like some opinions to put my mind at ease.
