Is it good to use a nice Expired Domain as a Money Site, or are they only good for PBNs?

I want to stay greyhat, so it isn't a super Churn n Burn and should stay ranked for quite some time...... but I want to build links slowly after I bought the domain, and it could be a bit problematic with a new domain right?
I need to rank in 3-4 Month.... is this possible for medium Difficulty, with Guest Post, PBN, Web 2.0 etc.?

i do it often and one of my main money sites is an expired domain in an entirely different niche and ranks for a ton of KWs.

Yeah, go ahead and do that if you have one that has decent metrics and a clean history.

If the profile is clean then definitely use it. It'll give you a good head start. Treat it with respect and you won't go wrong!

Expired domains are good enough to use it as money site, especially when before they were using with similar keywords that you want to use right now. Check it few times and if it's clear go for it :)

As long as the overwhelming majority of strong links are to the homepage, the domain is clean, and the domain is extremely niche relevant, then hell yeah.

Easy way to see is to buy the domain, buy some cheap Indian content from the marketplace, put it on the website, and wait 4 months to see how it ranks. If it ranks, great, replace the content with some quality content and build the site out. If it doesn't rank well, then use it as a PBN.

The expired domain you choose as money site, just make sure it had a clean history.

  • No Spammy Backlinks
  • Not previously used as a PBN
  • If it is still indexed in Google, that's awesome. No point using domains expired a year ago.

Make sure that there are no spammy links. Try to find a good domain with backlinks which is not dropped. There are plenty on GD auctions. These are even better than dropped domains.

I believe u still need to be very cautious when using it as a money site. Especially if you added on your GSC or Google Search Console

Don't agree on that last point. I have plenty of domains which expired a couple of years ago and Google is showing the old links they once had in GWC after a few months.

If you are unsure, use @JamaicanMoose's suggestion. Personally, I stick the old content back on from archive.org and see what happens, if all good, I use that baby or even 301 it eventually to my money site.

First of all you have 100% sure there are no spammy back-links.There are plenty of other good options you can use for money sites

As all the previous people said, it is ok to use an expired/auctioned domain and pivot to any niche you want.

I tried that too and it worked wonders.

It depends on what you are doing with the expired site, but you should get positive results for sure on the same niche. So go for it. But personally, I haven't tried using the expired site for a different niche.
