Expired Domain 301 or Rebuild and Link?

Hey guys, I'm just getting into buying expired domains to to get high quality link juice flowing to my money sites. I fired AHREFS and after a lot of searching, came across an expired personal blog with very good metrics so I bought it through namecheap with private whois. It's not been spammed, and has some great backlinks to about 5 different pages.

My question is this- my money site is fitness based. This personal blog is fashion and design based. So, should I rebuild it as it was and place a link on it's strongest page back to my money site? Or, just 301 the whole thing back to my money site?

I think building a PBN and create a content that is relevant to your money site is more effective since your domain is not related to your niche.
 
Both can work and I got good results with both. It seems to be better to mix it and rebuild some websites while others you just do 301! Don't do only one thing.
 
Rebuild it as a PBN instead. 301 is not as great as it used to be and it's more harmful when you direct 301 to your moneyite without any layer like a buffer web.

Correct, but you can just use a bitly redirect as your buffer
 
I would build a pbn, the thing is that Google is not stupid. If you forward a fashion domain to a fitness blog it's so obvious that this is just for metrics. And while this might work now, I would wait with the 301 and forward a domain that fits my niche and for now rebuild the site and use it as pbn.

Maybe you even find a stronger domain to 301,who knows
 
I would build the PBN too. You can re-propose the site and make it more fitness related. This way the backlink is more relevant.
 
Rebuild! Made it relevant and will get higher juice for little more money.
 
Thanks for the advice, guys. From the looks of it, my best bet is to repopulate the blog as it was and then use it as a PBN.
