Hi guys/gals, I'm a beginner & have been in IM seriously for 1 Year.
I was exploring new keywords for my affiliate site. I found a keyword in my niche that I'm quite sure that it's profitable and can take this site profit into a new level.
Checked the ranking sites on it, 5 Authority sites in Top 5 and Kwfinder diff. = 50.
For me, I usually go with keywords that have forums ranking in Top 5 and Kwfinder diff. under 25.
But, I said why not giving it a try? the site is making a good amount of money each site, so I can invest and try.
I'm sharing this experiment here in BHW, to motivate myself and share the results in all cases with all of you. It may be helpful.
"All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better."
Let's get into details:
here is some information about the keyword & my site.
I won't use the exact match keyword in any of them, I will use close related keywords.
Web 2.0s: Original ones for diversity of anchor texts, naked URL/branded/generic texts.
What I want to see:
Wish me luck! LET'S DO IT.

Let's get into details:
here is some information about the keyword & my site.
- The keyword is: Best X Products.
- 13,000 U.S Search/m.
- Estimated Earnings for Top 3: $1000 - $1500/m.
- I'm ranking in a keyword for the similar type of products and the conversion rate is great.
- My site is 7 months old and making currently around $500/m with Amazon Associates.
- My site has a so average - kind of - weak link profile.
- Kwfinder Diff: 50 - Ahrefs Diff: 24.
- The Top 5 are huge authority sites.
- Only 1 of the 5 sites is targeting the exact same keyword, other sites are targeting the broader version of it.
- The avg. length of the articles for the Top 5 is somewhere between 500 and 800 words.
- 4 of the top 5 sites didn't mention the keyword or any LSI of it in the content itself.
- There's one niche site did a new article on it and now it's ranking #8.
- Only 1 of the 5 authority sites has backlinks for this article.
- Create a huge article on this keyword: +6000 words.
- Perfect On-page optimization.
- 5 medium power PBNS for the article itself.
- 10 Original Web 2.0s for diversity of anchor texts.
- Create individual reviews for 10 products inside the list of products and then pass an internal links from those 10 products reviews to the main article Best X Products.
- Few blog comments (Nofollow and ********).
- 2 - 3 Guest posts.
- Social signals blast.
I won't use the exact match keyword in any of them, I will use close related keywords.
Web 2.0s: Original ones for diversity of anchor texts, naked URL/branded/generic texts.
What I want to see:
- Is targeting a specific keyword carries more power than targeting more broader keywords.
Example: "Best Printers" can outrank "Best Wireless Printers" article in this query: Best Wireless Printers.
- How much difficult is to eliminate authority sites with few weak / 0 backlinks on a specific article.
Wish me luck! LET'S DO IT.
