Selling do-follow links on well established sites with decent organic traffic: Worth it or too much long term risk?

Wouldn't link to pharma, gambling, or anything that didn't pass malware link checks. I've made PBNs in the past but never cared about whether or not they lost search ranking.

Anyone who ran permanent paid articles with do-follow links on ranking sites have any take on this?

You should be fine if you do it sparingly, not let them use exact match anchors, and either insert links into your existing content or only accept articles that fit into your site (not content that is written for link building).

Thanks. I think being picky about the anchor text is probably the biggest thing in my case.

Had any experience with selling links through 3rd party services like loveto.link? Don't think it would be worth it to try and personally find buyers so having a handful of 3rd party sellers might be simpler.
