Excel problem... Date format changes automatically :P

Hi all,
Hope you all are doing great

I got a problem with MS excel. Whenever I type a date in a format like this:
01-01-2010
It automatically changes to format like this:
01/01/2010

Anybody knows why it does so and how to fix it?

I'll be obliged to get the answer folks

Change the the cell formatting into "Text". That works for me.

Select the column or row or all cells which contain the dates > right click > Format Cells > Custom > dd/mm/yyyy then click in box below Type: and change / to - then click OK

yes.. change cell formating.. it's easy to make it done..
