Recently I have had a few customers asking for me to integrate Estibot into Domain Hunter Gatherer but I have always been really hesitant as I find the valuations from all of these services to be a total guess and rarely correlate (from what I have seen) with what the domain could actually be sold for.
After a fairly lengthy back and forth with one customer recently, after he repeatedly extolled the virtues of such a service and how essential they were to valuing domains, he revealed he had found 2 amazing domains. One of these domains was "worth" 92k so he was very excited; it was a mis-spelling of a huge multi national conglomerate that could only really be used for fraud.
After our back and forth my customer went to estibot to ask them to explain the valuation and they "found an algorithm oversight" and changed the valuation to $920.
Now I don't really know what was discussed between estibot and the customer or if they were even in a discussion but such a domain would definitely not be worth anywhere north of $1k, likely not even close to that as it had been available for a long time with no interest so likely would not fetch much at auction or on the open market.
What I do know is that I would not trust any service that is not using humans to appraise a domain as no algorithm is able to really interpret the domain as far as brandability or it's uses. This is not just limited to estibot, I am sceptical of any automated valuation services.
What I am getting at is that you may want to get a second opinion on the valuation as it could be worth far less or even more than your valuation.
