If it is a brand new website then it will definitely take longer.. I have had it take up to a week just to notice my domain being search as www[dot]sitename[dot]com
But as time goes on and if you frequently post new content, then your indexing rate will increase. If you are using WP then try downloading cbnet ping optimizer.. make sure to limit excessive posting. This helps out a lot.. and if you get a good pinging list, you can put it in the designated section in your wp back end..
