eSim doesnt support older iPhone models?

Hi
I want to target usa so I need an US sim or esim. I read online that esim only supports from iPhone XS and up, apparently it doesnt support older iPhone models? I was planning to use iPhone 6.

Has anyone been able to use esim with an older iphone?

Unfortunately, its impossible for me to receive any packages from USA from where I live so a physical US sim wont be possible to receive.

It's actually the other way around.

Older iPhone models don't support eSim.

eSim is not just a software or an app. eSim means am embedded-sim card.

It's a physical chip (IUCC) that is permanently installed within the device that then interfaces with the software to retrieve and store operator information and function.

Older phones don't have this embedded chip, and so can't support it.

I don't think there's any feasible work around. You can alter the iPhone6 to the point that the software can recognise eSIM, but then you'll be met with hardware limitations on the count of how eSIMs are. Outside of Frankensteining your device over a custom rig, it's just not gonna happen.
