Used escrow.com once, transaction was cancelled and it was difficult getting my funds back. It was so long ago obviously the company has changed since then as the website was so generic when I previously used them but due to the headache never used them again.

No escrow is safe 100%. My recommendation is go with one that centers around what you're trying to sell. If you're selling an expensive bike, try to find an escrow that specializes in bike sales and is at least a decent size company.
