Epic Case Study: Tier 2 Services from BHW

I love this case study. Hope to see your update soon

Answer to your questions coming right up...

1) Basically what I was trying to do is avoid the crappy looking 1 post web 2.0. I can see them a mile away, Google can see them a mile away - heck you can almost smell the SEO when you see a 1 post web 2.0 that has 1) a link to wikipedia 2) possibly a link to Yahoo answers and 3) a link to your money site. Everyone knows what those are. My idea is simply to have a somewhat abnormal/above average web 2.0 before I get to posting links. Yes - a few posts before your link is fine. Also don't be afraid to link out to other websites as well.

2) Both. Pogiboys service creates the web 2.0's, makes some initial posts on them, and then turns them over to me with usernames/passwords. I then enter them into Rankwyz to manage them and drip out further posts.

Hope that helps.

Also - hoping to push part 2 of this case study out soon.

Cheers

XH

Thanks a lot for this, xha! Now this is a great case study, you the man! Looking forward to see the stage 2! Plus, I'll be trying Group 4 for my web 2.0's.

I have two quick questions.
1. You said you make more posts on each web 2.0, not just 1 post with a backlink to the money site. If I'll create a web 2.0, make 3-4 articles without any link, then one article with a link to my money site, that would be fine?

2. Also, not sure if I understood right, for those 100 web 2.0's you used Pogiboys or RankWyz? Which one would you recommend?

Cheers man! :)

Hey there, 3 more questions. Pogiboys don't make web 2.0's anymore, so I can't really decide where to buy tier 1 web 2.0's from right now.

1.How they were structured at Pogiboys? I see some guys are making web 2.0's with 5 pages, some with just 1 page, etc. How were the Pogiboys web 2.0's? They didn't really mention this exactly in the thread.
Or .. the basic question will be: Is that important if the tier 1 web 2.0's has 4-5 pages or 1 page if I'll personaly schedule some posts on each property (4-5 posts)?

2. After group 4 for example made its work and web 2.0's got serps, how to you place the link to your moneysite? Create a new post on each web 2.0? Or insert the link in an old post already created there?

3. Where do you pointed exactly the Group 4 links? To the post that contains the link on the web 2.0's? Or the homepage of the web 2.0? Example: domain.example.com ? Or domain.example.com/post-url?

Thanks a lot again man, respect! :)

Hey xha,

Looking forward to your new test results.

Will you list out the Tier 2 services that you ordered from?

u should share abit ur onpage as well, u bought 5 and still don't have impressive ranking?

Hey,

So you're asking about the Pogiboys - I'll see what I can remember and hopefully answer them for you...

1. Q. How were they structured? If I recall correctly they generally had 3 posts. Sometimes 2, but mostly 3. The posts they used were these...
- Bio post - random name, random picture, random email if you have any questions. This was on every Pogiboy I believe
- Random Post - something generic. Jokes. Lame jokes. Fun facts. Generic.
- Specific posts - on topic posts, related to your topic posts, etc

The first (bio) post was always there. The next posts sometimes were, sometimes weren't. Tying into it you're asking if you need to schedule posts on each property if you already have 4-5 posts. I can't say what you should do, I can tell you what I did and why. I wanted my blogs to have posts scheduled. They had to have posts dripping out in my mind for two reasons 1) Having 5 posts setup in 1 day and then left screams spam web 2.0 to me. If it screams that to me, you can bet it screams it to Google. 2) I believe Google *likes* it when stuff gets updated. If you aren't worried about these, I see no reason to schedule posts to each property.

2. Q. How do I link to my money site with these? Truth is I don't at the moment. First off, these are test properties. I'm running tests. The test here was to see if I could pass decent relevance with my links. Relevance in my world is defined as Google thinking it worth mentioning on their Page 1, Page 2 - etc for certain keywords. Will I link these to my money site? YES. Now? NO. I want to give these some time. A year possibly - to see if they're still around then. If so, I will link them. If they're not and the links brought penalties, I won't link them. If I end up linking them, I will link them like this...

- New post. Anchor text is generic (remember these blogs are relevant for my keywords. Google already know that and what keywords my blogs are relevant for. Adding exact match IMHO is pointless)
- Link old posts towards new post with exact match anchors I'm trying to work on.

That's how I will do this.

3. Q. Did you point the links to subpages or homepages on Web 2.0's? All the links were pointing at the homepage of the web 2.0. To be honest I was too lazy to scrape other URL's from the web 2.0's. Besides when I link it will be in a post that's on the homepage.

Hey,

To be honest the results are in. I just haven't finished typing up my 200 page report with all the pretty graphs :-) I will give you a sneak peak shortly though. Also, yes I will list the Tier 2 services I ordered from. It's only fair that if someone does better, you know what they did better against.

Cheers!

nice case study. There's a lot to learn from this. Catching $$

I promised you guys a sneak peak before I published this... here it is...

I don't have to tell you that one particular service (from BHW here) literally rocked the living daylights out of all the others. It's there for you to see. Coming soon to a town near you - BHW Tier 2 Service case study continued ;-)

I was waiting this post for quite a long time. Good job man and thanks a lot for the effort on updating this thread.

Just found your case study and it is a pleasure to see one done the way it should be done and kept updated along the way. Nice contributions to the forum. Question: Have you found that Rankwyz is not working as well for you as it did in the beginning or is it about the same for you?

Hi - no problem. That post is from my next version of this case study... hoping to put the finishing touches on it in the next day or two. Cheers!

I know its a sneak peak but can you explain the graph above? Can you also list top tier 2 services?

Explanation: I have 100 Web 2.0's that I divided into 5 groups. I hit each group with a different linking package, targeting 25 different keywords. That graph shows how many Web 2.0's in each group claimed positions in the SERPs for those keywords. So with group 4, I managed to rack up 47 page 1 (1-10) rankings using that linking package. Considering I was targeting 25 keywords, this suggests I almost get 2 page 1 rankings for each keyword. While in reality it's a little more diverse, it gives you some idea of the linking power, when it can drive a Web 2.0 onto the first page.

I will list the Tier 2 services once I've finished writing the whole thing up for you guys.

Hey

I'm glad you appreciate it. A while back ago I was on one of those "BHW SUCKS BECUZ NOOBS" type threads bemoaning nobody contributing anything more than smart-ass replies or ignorant noob questions and the resulting flames. I made a decision then I would like to try and contribute to improve this place in whatever way I can, and this is a result.

To be honest I haven't used Rankwyz for a while. I'm kind of afraid that if I update my Web 2.0's any, they will somehow get flagged and banned. Call me paranoid but I lost a whole bunch of awesome ranking tumblrs because of this. So not sure if it's working - however Pavel is apparently completely redoing it. Hopefully that helps make it a little more userfriendly because I did have issues figuring it out when I started.

Cheers

For some reason I apparently missed this way-back-when. Thanks for sharing - will be watching out for further updates :)

Hope this doesn't turn into a rather clever boost for a service you're connected to
