English Premier League (EPL) starts tomorrow....

The 3rd best league in the world (source of fact: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_coefficient) starts tomorrow.... not very excited.

Waiting for the best league in the world to start in 2 weeks.

Also, I'm not completely sure why everyone is crazy about Mourinho (cancer of football) coaching Man Utd? I really liked the Sir Alex's era Man Utd... but to be degraded to the level of being coached by a total anti-football person who is an arrogant prick and delusional for a living..... well, anything happens nowadays.

Leicester will miss Kante a lot, he was the engine of their midfield... I expect them to finish last in the CL group stages and somewhere around mid-table in EPL this season.

LOL and you expect the German league to be above the EPL?

You expect a league which is dominated by teams like Bayern and Borussia to be ahead of EPL? No way!

You know and everyone knows...not too long ago teams from England used to be in the semi-finals....it's just that since last 3-4 years it has dipped and if you know a thing or two about football, which you don't. Do you know the hectic fixture list in England??????????????????

That doesnt happen in Germany...they have like a 1 month break in the month January, if I am not wrong. Don't go with those stats but with the logic, it has all to do with fatigue.

well, I think Liverpool, Will dominate this year, klopp have enough experience to win the EPL, he just need some good players,

Mou and Guardiola, invested a lot of money in new players, so they need time to put all the things in place, same thing with italian coache of chelsea,

Are Liverpool in the EL this season? If not then playing 1 game a week gives them a massive advantage in the league.

No they are not, and yes you are right but it's the EPL and anything can happen, that is what makes it so enticing to watch. Frankly speaking whenever I come across Spanish league matches, I get a feeling that I am wasting my time but when I switch back to EPL matches, it seems like a breath of fresh air. There's a reason why the TV rights are so high here and EPL clubs make so much money because of that.

This is the most pathetic excuse ever. Who forces EPL to have a hectic fixture? Who forces EPL to have an unnecessary league cup where clubs field their B squads all the time?

This is the only excuse EPL fans are left with... and it's beyond pathetic, it's not even an argument.

Talking about hectic fixtures, Sevilla played 50+ official competitive matches last season, only Real Madrid played more. Also, who cares if your FA doesn't give a crap about the fixtures... all they want to achieve is extra profit for the Asian viewers. They couldn't give less a crap if someone in England doesn't like it that their club plays for the New Year's Eve.... they're all about the $, and that's what is slowly destroying EPL.

As I said earlier, which is a fact not an argument, EPL is great... as a brand, not anything else. The brand is selling well in Asia but it's hurting the clubs, the national team etc. I don't care about your internal problems... if you don't provide quality football and teams that reach high places in European competitions.... your league sucks and that's all. There's nothing that can change that fact... and especially not the pathetically lame excuses of the "hectic fixtures".... smh.

Unbelievable. I usually debate about this with people that I know who are EPL fans and every reasonable person with a bit of sense admits that La Liga is the most qualitative league that there is at the moment.

The EPL is making money right? Are you a club owner? Are you a financial or marketing manager of any EPL club? Are you a shareholder in any of the EPL clubs? If not, then from a fan's perspective you're worthless. How can you be happy that EPL gets the most money from TV revenues when your clubs suck hardly in European competitions? How can you be happy when you watch your national team crash early in every major national team competition? That must be so sad....

You know how pathetic the argument of having the most TV revenue sounds? If you're not profiting from that phenomenon personally... then why the hell would you want to brag about it? Finances are not the most important thing in football. If you don't win trophies.... you suck. The ones that make the money don't give a flying f*ck whether you are happy as a fan.... what you're arguing is just a camouflage of how unhappy you are inside as a fan of a league the teams of which have been piss poor for many many years.

I feel sorry for the EPL fans, seriously. Hopefully you'll get to being the second best league in the world... that could be reached with proper management, better tactics and focusing more on what matters in football... the trophies!

well, i think now the spanish era has gone, all good players are now in england, i think that the injustice of spanish league will kiil the competition

Well.....It's been another absolutely shit window for us and I honestly believe we will finish outside the top 4 this season.

We go into the Liverpool game with NO recognised centre back (that's a problem)

I read earlier Arsene Wenger said there were "no world class players available"! Course not Arsene! There have been no major signings this window.

Apparently we have hundreds of millions in the bank ready to go - but all I see is us getting blown out by Vardy and offering 5 million less than market value for proven players.

There was talk we were after Jonny Evans at one point - Jonny fucking Evans!!

Anyway - UTD champions for me, City a close second. Think it will take Pep a season to get use to the Premier league.

Spanish league has suffered a lot from the unfair share of Tv revenues. It was something like the top 2 clubs (Barca, RM) getting around 70% and the others were left with 30% to be divided among all the other 18 clubs. That was a disgrace, and clubs like Sevilla, Villarreal etc. suffered a lot from that.

I've been watching Sevilla and rooting for them since 2006, although watched La Liga in Canal+ since 2001-02. When Sevilla signs a player for 15 million euros, everyone goes crazy and then the club has to sell 2-3 key players to balance the books... because then the risk of getting into serious debt is immense. This is a joke compared to an average EPL team, where they regularly spend 30-40 million euros per transfer window. The LFP (football association of Spain) doesn't care much about this either... however, with a new deal between La Liga clubs and LFP, now the TV revenue is shared a bit more evenly... and the clubs that finish in top 6 will have way better income from the deal compared to previous seasons.

The new deal was a result of constant pressure from the La Liga clubs to the federation... even threatening with boycott etc.

Nevertheless, it is true though that the current best coaches of all the world are located in EPL for the moment... but not the best players. We'll see how it goes from this season on and only time will tell... however, I'm still quite sure that the domination of Barca and Real Madrid as the best clubs in the world will continue for long.

Are you getting the CB Mustafi by any chance? That guy is very underrated and he was a beast in Valencia for the past 2 season.

What a start for Hull city, they have beaten the reigning champions Leicester City. It's going to be one heck of a season for sure. Zlatan you beauty I love your Egoistic qualities.

The signing would be music to my ears. I read it was close and then his dad (who is his agent I believe) came out and said it wasn't happening. We probably offered 15 million for him!!

Its not just Wenger though, its entire club hierarchy. They are content with Top 4 and do not want to spend the money it takes to really compete for the PL or CL

Most watched league in the world = Best league in the world

True.

No Arsenal fans are asking for Pogba type transfers, they just want the team strengthened in areas it clearly needs strengthening.

If Wenger can come out and say the goal is to become champions this season he is either lying or delusional - either way he must go.

How can we be so unprepared for the first game? Why are we still dithering around trying to shave a few million under the asking price.

A club and manager with ambition would have had both the Lacazette (who scored a hat trick at the weekend for Lyon) and Mustafi transfers done - not us though.
