What are you using to share sensitive documents with encryption? I have used ShareFile at an enterprise level but it is too expensive ($50/mo) for personal use, especially as I only have a couple files per month requiring encryption.

So, how are you sharing sensitive documents or files?

Try Proton mail. you can set up a free email account and send an email with the attachment encrypted.

Encrypt the file in a rar with Winrar. Put a strong password and share the download link only with the intended person. Mega works well. WinRAR uses 128/256 AES Encryption Technology
The RAR archives are notorious for their strong encryption which proves to be resistant to brute-force searches, even when the passwords used are quite weak by modern standards. There are three reasons for this:
  1. RAR relies on well-proven cryptographic algorithms;
  2. Its initialization step is deliberately made very slow, so that the number of passwords one can test per second is quite low;
  3. WinRAR and related tools don't not have any bugs or other security problems;

PIA is based in the United States and they don't keep logs.

It's an interesting idea but it requires the recipient to have WinRAR and understand how to use it. This would be a problem for most of my recipients.

Good idea. I forgot about my good old Protonmail account! If anyone else is planning to use this, make sure you explicitly apply "Encrypt for outside users", as the option is not enabled by default.

use gpg to encrypt the file before you send it, then you can use any file sharing method.

I guess I should have been more specific in OP. This an WinRAR idea are fine for computer literate individuals. I am talking about sharing files with standard office personnel that have no idea what 'encryption' even is :D Hence the use of Citrix ShareFile which does all the heavy lifting for users.
