I'm somewhat new to botting and heavily following other accounts so I have not been banned or am I familiar with it. That being said, on all of my accounts (4) in the past week have been asked to "verify email with an orange alert symbol next to "edit profile" . I clicked on it to send an email to the address listed below and I haven't received an email yet to confirm the account, it's been 4-5 hours now. Unless they're delayed..?

What does it mean if IG wants you to verify your email or phone after you've been rapidy/heavily following?
My account is not 1 week old and I have a habit of manually and rapidly following 100-250+ accounts in a burst then stopping.....

Did I screw myself over?

I have a account that is 42k followers that hadn't been logged into for about 8-12 months (wtf i know) .. and when i jumped on it the other day I had the verify email alert. This account has never been spammed or botted with.

Maybe, maybe not. You need to lay off the white powder (following) and do what "normal" people do. Put a few pictures up, follow a few (not hundreds), and don't unfollow anyone for at least 1 month.
After the account is aged, throttle up a bit, but don't step on the pedal until 2-3 weeks later.

By the way, everyone should verify their accounts before using a bot.

Alright I'll lay off, guess my growth will go in the ******* for a couple weeks. I guess people have abused the system too much, none of my posts are spammy what so ever.

yea, a lot of people abused the system lol, to the extent where it started to effect the every day user experience negatively

it's not your posts almost 100% sure, it's your following activity, slow down with it or you'll get your accs banned, not just an email verify request

Could also be from logging into the account from a different device or ip.

Had to do email verification only once and they have never bothered to ask again. I guess it is a mandatory thing now- every account has to have a verified email address. Otherwise, I don't think it means something bad.

I too don't think email verification is some sort of spam detection alert. I think it's just mandatory for most.
