Email List Building, opt-in template

Hi

I've created a website/ecomm business and I now need to start marketing. I don't have a list yet. I have a list of my friends contacts. I want to send an email to my contacts (one time only) to let them know about this business and the email will have an opt in. (my website has option but it isn't performing, I need to fix that).

What can I use/do to send an email to my contacts? Is there a nice template/info somewhere that may help guide me? I'd hate to botch the first email I send to my contacts. Any advice?

I have MailChimp but it doesn't want to spam my imported contacts (of course). But not sure how to initiate some beginning opt-ins via email. I'm new so perhaps I've missed something on MailChimp.

Hopefully someone understands what I want to do or need.

Yep, thanks. I think I’m missing something tho. Not sure I can easily email my contacts with a email marketing tool. All off the tools assume optin but I want to email people to announce the store and ask them to optin. What am I missing here?

Well from what you said in your first post, if you dont have a list but want to start building one and if you also want to email your friends with info about your store then i recommend the following to start...

1: create a discount coupon for your store and email your friends&contacts asking them to check your store out and to share it with friends on social media to help you out and to also get a discount coupon to use at your store(you can use wp plugins that can do this for you).

2: (free traffic&list building) - then create some niche specific forum accounts and share some useful content and when possible add your links to your landing page in your signature...also join some niche related fb groups and create a simple short ebook from articles in your niche(ex, "top 10 tips for weight loss") and add a link to your landing page at the end then share it to groups you have joined also add it to filesharing websites for a little extra traffic.

3aid traffic&list building) - look for niche related instagram profiles with alot of followers(good few thousand)and buy some shoutouts for a nice price from them and make sure you give them the link to your landing page to post/put in bio.

4: then over time interact and share content with your list as it slowly starts to build-up, after a while you will have a decent sized list you can make money.

Sidenote: whenever emailing a list of imported contact ALWAYS warm-up the account your using by sending helpful and simple emails WITHOUT LINKS a couple times before actually sending promotional type emails.
