☕️ Elon Says Hashtags Aren't Needed Anymore

It's cause there is no global Illuminati standard of hashtags, lol. They are a great way to find relevant things fast, and unfortunately, people sometimes spam hashtags with irrelevant tags to gain access to the system. I think as long as they are the correct rough categorization, then they should be kept on each platform. Although saying that, I use hashtags mostly on youtube, and there isn't a way to measure the click through from hashtags, so maybe they are pointless, we don't really even know how many hashtag searches there are globally do we?
 
Hashtags made scraping relevant content about a niche easier, as well as segmenting users when you are not paying for ads, but when people started spamming random posts on every trending hashtag, the whole process become irrelevant.
 
I'm surprised about that, maybe they are thinking to remake the trending section? there use to be a lot of tags that were basically the same and no relevant content more like spam with this seems that only relevant and important content can be pushed in the trending section and no spam, I like that.
 
Partially, I agree that posts look ugly, but tests show that posts with hashtags perform much better if you're trying to grow an account. So, it's 50/50.

What about you guys? Have you experienced any positive effects from hashtags?
 
Why doesn't he just turn them off then instead of asking the users?
 
Instagram recently start recomendating not using hashtags as well.

I guess they are trying to push TikTok alike algo .
