Yeah, crazy this is only 10 minutes from my day job. There were a few people who had kids in that school. As of 5:00 no workers lost any children. The company sent out a company wide email. If you don't know someone personally, you know someone who knows someone who has lost a kid here.
It's a small town thought as one of the safest in the Country.
These crazy shooters......it's so disturbing. Shooting innocent adults is horrible, but shooting kindergartners is beyond description.
A lady that works with my wife, kept her daughter home because she was sick - that was her class, the lady was her teacher. Even though her daughter wasn't in school, the mom still fainted and had to be taken to the ER. This is tragedy that we should never have to rationalize let alone explain to a kid.

You are right it is not exclusive to the USA but a gun toating society is not a polite society...it just makes us BETTER killers...
Did you know the UK has a higher indecent of violent crime yet the USA has triple (or more) the amounts of homicides or gun related deaths?
Here is some more data-
"Across high-income nations, more guns = more homicide.
We analyzed the relationship between homicide and gun availability
using data from 26 developed countries from the early 1990s. We found
that across developed countries, where guns are more available, there
are more homicides. These results often hold even when the United States
is excluded. - Firearm availability and homicide rates across 26 high income countries. Journal of Trauma. 2000; 49:985-88."
"Case-control studies, ecological time-series and cross-sectional
studies indicate that in homes, cities, states and regions in the US,
where there are more guns, both men and women are at higher risk for
homicide, particularly firearm homicide. - Firearm availability and homicide: A review of the literature. Aggression and Violent Behavior: A Review Journal. 2004; 9:417-40. ""Motorists with guns are more likely to engage in types of road rage (USA)
Over 2,400 licensed drivers responded to questions about their own
aggressive driving in a 2004 national random digit dial survey. We
found that 17% of respondents admitted to making obscene or rude
gestures in the past year, and another 9% admitted to aggressively
following too closely. Males, young adults, binge drinkers, those ever
arrested for a non-traffic violation, and motorists who had been in a
vehicle in which there was a gun, were more likely to engage in such
forms of road rage.
- Is an armed society a polite society? Guns and road rage. Accident Analysis and Prevention. 2006; 38:687-95."
"Across high income countries more guns = more female homicide deaths.
We analyzed the relationship between gun availability and homicides
of women with data from 25 high income countries. Across developed
nations, where gun are more available, there are more homicides of
women. The United States has the most firearms and U.S. women have far
more likely to be homicide victims than women in other developed
countries. - Firearm availability and female homicide victimization rates across 25 populous high-income countries. Journal of the American Medical Women's Association. 2002; 57:100-04."

Let's not go political with this, ok?
Exactly, there's more sickos in the US than anywhere else. Guns or no guns they'll still find ways to kill children
This is hardly a USA problem so please lets not profile the Country. Some similar recent shootings
March 1996, Britain: A gunman burst into a primary school in Dunblane, Scotland, shot and killed 16 children and their teacher, then killed himself.
April 26, 2002, Germany: In the town of Erfurt in eastern Germany, 19-year-old Robert Steinhauser opened fire after saying he was not going to take a math test. He killed 12 teachers, a secretary, two pupils and a policeman at the Gutenberg Gymnasium, before killing himself.
Sept. 1, 2004, Russia: Three hundred and thirty three hostages, at least 186 of them children, died at School No. 1 in Beslan, Russia. The school was seized by rebels demanding Chechen independence. The deaths occurred during the chaotic storming of the school by Russian forces.
Sept. 23, 2008, Finland: Student Matti Saari opened fire in a vocational school in Kauhajoki in northwestern Finland, killing nine other students and one male staff member before killing himself.
Jan. 23, 2009, Belgium: A man with a white painted face and blackened eyes fatally stabbed two infants and a woman at childcare center in western Belgium.
Jan. 23, 2009, Norway: A policeman shot to death a female teacher and then shot himself in what appeared to be a quarrel between former lovers outside a school in the northern town of Tromsoe. The policeman died of his wounds days later.
March 11, 2009, Germany: A 17-year-old gunman dressed in black combat gear killed more than a dozen people, including nine students and three teachers at the Albertville Realschule school in Winnenden. He fled and later killed himself after a gunbattle with police.
There are problems all over the world and as you can see, even places with strict gun laws aren't immured. How anyone could kill innocent babies is beyond me. Incomprehensible actually.
I can never understand the end goal with these things.
Trying my best to avoid a political discussion here. I'll just leave you with this video about Switzerland
A lady that works with my wife, kept her daughter home because she was sick - that was her class, the lady was her teacher. Even though her daughter wasn't in school, the mom still fainted and had to be taken to the ER.
Wow! Unbelievable...That lady who works with your wife must be unbelievably grateful.
I just heard on TV that the town had ONE (1) murder in the last TEN YEARS! ONE! And Now so many in just a single day!

I don't believe in accidents. I don't believe god plays dice with the universe. There is no such thing as "random". Schroedinger's cat is either alive or dead because it was his destiny, or because God or Man willed it to be so. That child is alive because of some kind of intervention. It's possible the entire massacre happened just so that child would be killed, but for some reason was not. That child is special, and there is a reason "someone", maybe God, has intervened.
