Elementary School Shooting in CT

I can't believe so many of these things happen in the US. Something is seriously wrong in our culture.

I couldn't even read the story. I usually never wish anything bad on anyone no matter what they do, but my bias in this matter overcomes me. I sincerely hope this guy burns in hell for eternity.

Innocent thoughts and wishes drowned today in the sound of gunfire and pools of blood...

Yeah, crazy this is only 10 minutes from my day job. There were a few people who had kids in that school. As of 5:00 no workers lost any children. The company sent out a company wide email. If you don't know someone personally, you know someone who knows someone who has lost a kid here.

It's a small town thought as one of the safest in the Country.

These crazy shooters......it's so disturbing. Shooting innocent adults is horrible, but shooting kindergartners is beyond description.

A lady that works with my wife, kept her daughter home because she was sick - that was her class, the lady was her teacher. Even though her daughter wasn't in school, the mom still fainted and had to be taken to the ER. This is tragedy that we should never have to rationalize let alone explain to a kid.

I just heard on TV that the town had ONE (1) murder in the last TEN YEARS! ONE! And Now so many in just a single day!

I have three kids. I just can not even fathom how DESTROYED I would be if one of them were killed like this. It's mind boggling.

I hope and pray those poor people someday and somehow find some peace. It's just unbelievably sad....

Did you know the UK has a higher indecent of violent crime yet the USA has triple (or more) the amounts of homicides or gun related deaths?

My family runs preschools in So. Fla. We have plenty of crazies down here ( I think we're one of the 10 most depressed states I read in a survey somewhere) Depression leads to a plethora of other mental health issues. Time for Biometric readers on access doors and daily rounds by local enforcement. Cant take risks with these nutjobs. We have never had an issue before, but can never be too sure. Already have 16ch camera system inside and out

You should have seen the way the parents looked at their children when it came time to pick up there kids today.

Heartbreaking news. He should have got help. Someone in his life should have seen the signs. Stuff like this usually starts with a downward spiral.

There is no way to avoid it. Gun Control advocates start their rhetoric from incidents just like this one, and instead behaving in a natural "human" way, the use the occasion of the tragedy to promote their own ideas, while people's emotions are "high" and their thinking is clouded by tragedy.

As far as this incident goes, well of course it's sad, but I once worked for years next to someone whose little sister died of leukemia. Every time someone would get on the radio and attempt to make a big deal about this child dying from this cause, or that child dying from that cause, he always made a point of mentioning that "the public" wasn't too concerned when it was his own 7 year old sister dying, and he didn't feel at all like "they" thought he was supposed to. All he cared about was his own sister, and she was dead.

I've never forgot that perspective, most particularly when "the public" starts gaining publicity and momentum around some tragedy or other. It's all false, it's all superficial and it will all be gone by next week. When it's your own sister, or daughter that dies, then that's REAL. Otherwise, it's just made-for-TV drama and you are the self-centered audience that uses the occasion of someone else's tragedy to further own own ends.

Remember Amanda-what's-her-name? Remember what a bid deal "bullying" was. That was then, and this is now. Now this is the "big deal" and next week it will be something else. Maybe you-all can feel okay about joining the herd and having a great-big sympathy party for the current dead celebrates, but I cannot. All these mass-media manufactured, made-for-TV news "LIVE" stories do is to remind me of the real situations that have happened in my real life, and how little attention and sympathy that "the world" had for those I know personally, in real life.
 
Really Bad i think this is the second time this year in US first one was in Colorado during Bat man movie release and now this one , May good God shower his Grace over Victims family . I think Govt has to re think over the National Arms Act

There are problems all over the world and as you can see, even places with strict gun laws aren't immured. How anyone could kill innocent babies is beyond me. Incomprehensible actually.

The frightening and disturbing downside to this mayhem which reaches out globally is that it is becoming like a 'Cult Sickness!' One madman reads and watches about say Anders Behring Breivik, who killed 77 people in two attacks in Norway last year. Then because he is insane he then thinks 'Yeah I will buy a gun and do something like that and make a name for myself!' There has to be a connection!

The killer gained nothing. He shot himself in the end and lost his life.

No person with a sane mind would do that.

I don't believe in accidents. I don't believe god plays dice with the universe. There is no such thing as "random". Schroedinger's cat is either alive or dead because it was his destiny, or because God or Man willed it to be so. That child is alive because of some kind of intervention. It's possible the entire massacre happened just so that child would be killed, but for some reason was not. That child is special, and there is a reason "someone", maybe God, has intervened.

Newtown is a typical quaint little New England town. Small, charming, clean, nice houses, upscale, country like. It's a town you would look at when buying a home and say that's where you would want to raise your kids.

When 9/11 happened, there was story after story like that. My sister's neighbor woke up to a flooded house and couldn't go to work at the WTC because she had to wait for the plumber. My friend who had a 9am appointment in the restaurant on the top floor overslept and she never overslept. After 9/11, she had a nervous breakdown and moved to Vermont in the middle of nowhere.
