Elementary School Shooting in CT

According to the news, the shooter just focused on one classroom. Very pathetic.

Yeah, the criminals that want to hurt you, and your loved ones, would LOVE that.... You know cause they will obey a gun law, if no other....

Guns aren't the problem... PEOPLE are the problem..

Exactly, there's more sickos in the US than anywhere else. Guns or no guns they'll still find ways to kill children

My question is, how did this Nut job get into the school anyways? Here in OHIO, I have to go through the third degree on a video camera at the schools front door, before they'll let me in to pick up my kids during school hours...

The shooter was in his 20s and I bet from a broken home with a long history of behavioral problems because he never got his ass beat when he was a child.

Sorry for the rant - just a pet peeve of this old man.

Could be.
Or maybe he had a sick parent or two who did nothing BUT beat his ass when he was a child.
The only thing that we know for sure is that this was done by a sick, deranged person.

I agree. I've heard reports in the past that it was Dungeons and Dragons that caused this person to go nuts (not THIS guy - in the past) - or all the violence in TV or the Movies, and now there will be others that will say it's the violence in video games. You know, 95% of the shooters ate peanut butter too - maybe that was to blame? In the end, you have a broken person and that person would eventually have had something set them off.

In either case, there are many families that will be grieving tonight - because of this 24 year old... just reported as Ryan Lanza.

It's terrible. And so soon after the shooting in Portland.

I can never understand the end goal with these things. If somebody asks the guy who did it, listen so you went into a classroom and shot all the kids. What is the end goal? Maybe there isn't an end goal. Though, logically there has to be.

Maybe to reach the news and shock the world or something. I have no idea why else you would kill children.

Its indeed a very sad event. I mean these days people who are damn broke get so frustrated that they start taking the lives of other people. Our Prayers go to the families of those affected. Evil shall never prevail over good.

Let's not go political with this, ok?

I just heard an unconfirmed report that a 2nd shooter has been taken into custody.

Do you think that gun control is politics and not just common sense?
Not all of us here are from the US, I'm European and I don't care all that much about US politics but I don't like to see human lives being lost in this way. Specially children!
In my opinion gun control might help with making this kind of things less common, as in Europe. I didn't vote on US elections as I'm not a US citizen so for me this is not politics, just an opinion.
I won't pray as I don't believe in God, but that doesn't mean I'm deeply saddened by all this and give my opinion on how to make things better. I believe in people, but every time a thing like this happens it makes me lose some faith in the human race.
For those who died there is nothing left to do, but the US should take action in order to save more children and people in general from this fate!:(

I wish that the shooter in CT was still alive so he could get raped multiple times in prison and then stabbed so many times that someone couldn't even estimate the punctures.

Reminds me of an old Chris Rock routine after Columbine, sadly it was funny at the time but his routine basically was, "everyone's talkin' about these two guys were influenced by video games, movies, crazy ass music. whatever happened to CRAZY??"

Exactly... I understand some ppl thinking that removing the guns will remove the problem but there's an old saying, "If we outlaw guns, then only outlaws will have guns". Nothing can stop the wacko from getting his hands on a weapon and using it - other than security, which unfortunately failed in this case.

All we can do is to try and tell our own kids that their schools are primarily safe and that even with what they see in the news, there are almost 100% safe there. No one is ever fully 100%... we know that - but it is close to that even with crazies like this guy.

And for those that think that this is either exclusively a US problem or just a gun control problem, it isn't:

Man stabs 29 kids at kindergarten in China

It's a people problem and it's world wide - not just here. I also hope and Pray for those effected in China.
PS. Thankfully, the knife wielding crazy in China was less effective - I read reports of some in critical condition but no reported fatalities that I saw.
