Effective Link Network

I used to do a lot of linkbuilding, but since penguin I've been pretty quiet. I do know that one of the most effective ways to to still gain ranks is through an anonymously run link network (c-class, different hosts, registrars). But do any of you have a set-plan that you follow?

My plan right now is to build ~10 - 15 websites on various hosts (shared and vps). That would all be roughly in the same niche as my money site. These websites would have their own content and be genuinely unique and different from anything else. They would all contain an article that is directly related to my money site's niche and have a link back to the money site. I'm anticipating a cost of ~$500/yr for just maintenance of the network.

Is this a solid plan?

In any case - yes, that's broadly how it's done, I think about $60-$80/yr per site is about right, plus of course the cost of adding content.

Thank you, do you have any recommended hosts? I was thinking combos of blue host/gator host/etc. Anyone done this with dreamhost unique ip's? That's my primary host.

I knew I signed up on this site a while back, but damn, it's been a while till first post haha.

You can bring down the costs if you go for super cheap hosting (but be prepared to move some sites around if one of those cheap hosts disappears on you). I pay maybe $25/site/year.

Plus you should ideally add a lot more content than just a single page...that'd be my recommendation anyway.

Go with more than 1 article. Copy old content using the Wayback Machine to make the site look legit, or rewrite the old content.

Would I be correct in assuming that it would be a good idea to snatch up freshly expired domains? How could I go about finding them?
