Hi everyone,

I’ve been working on link building for my websites and I noticed that many of the older backlink methods (like mass directories or random blog comments) are either less effective or risky in 2025.

So far, I’ve tried things like:

  • Guest posting on niche blogs
  • Submitting to local directories
  • Adding links through forum participation

But I’m still not sure what strategies are really giving the best results right now.

What backlink strategies are you finding effective in 2025?
Are there any safe and creative approaches that actually help rankings today?

Looking forward to hearing your experiences and advice.

Thanks!

Directories work for local businesses. Comments hardly work because of spam, you need high quality manual comments. These are hard to get.
Guest posts still works, I get 50-60 emails eveyday asking for guest post. I got a software subscription for life yesterday inexchange for 1 niche edit.
Forum links work for Parasite seo as they get removed after few days or few weeks.

Great discussion!
In my experience, niche edits and high-authority guest posts are still working well in 2025 — especially when the content is topically relevant.
I’ve also seen some decent results with crowd links and branded web 2.0s, but only when they’re part of a natural link profile.
PBNs still work too, but they need to be aged and clean — otherwise they’re too risky.
Curious to know if anyone here is still getting traction from HARO or Parasite SEO?
Let’s keep sharing what’s working — helps everyone stay ahead!
