I set up a static page but I want to edit some details, I don't seem to be able to do it through the control pannel .

The items are in files in the "theme-compat" directory notably I want to take out the "comments closed" text on a static page.

I've opened the file in Plesk and can edit it but not save, it's owned by apache not me I need to sort out the permissions.
But Plesk doesn't seem to enable me to re-set the the rights.

    Error Message:-

So how do I successfully change permissions and edit the file? Is this the best way to do the job?

    Thanks aamcle

most hosts have things set up so that the folder will pass down
    and override the permissions.

so it is likely that the folder contents are not set to be 'writeable'
so you may have to temporarily set the entire 'themes' folder to
777 do your edit and then set the folder back to what it was before.
