Should I Use Sub-Domain in Building Up a Blog for E-commerce Site or different website?

As a shopper, I take a site more seriously if it uses a subdomain instead of a separate domain. I'm not sure about the SEO angle as I've not tested it, though I think it would be the same - point all the backlinks at one domain, don't spread them around.

Why pointing all the backlinks at one domain and do not distribute some at the subdomain too?

To do not distribuite all the SEO linkbuilding?

if your ecommerce site is: xyz.com then blog should be blog.xyz.com

Yes definitely use a subdomain. Use blogs to build links and drive traffic to E-Commerce site!

Plus, personally I am suspicious of phishing if I see the domain change randomly but the same logo.

Using a subdomain is crucial to keep customer attention and trust, it sounds silly but that's how it works.
