Should I Use Sub-Domain in Building Up a Blog for E-commerce Site or different website?

As a shopper, I take a site more seriously if it uses a subdomain instead of a separate domain. I'm not sure about the SEO angle as I've not tested it, though I think it would be the same - point all the backlinks at one domain, don't spread them around.

Yes definitely use a subdomain. Use blogs to build links and drive traffic to E-Commerce site!

Plus, personally I am suspicious of phishing if I see the domain change randomly but the same logo.
