Just a few tips for you guys, first thread in the making money section so bare with me,

Ok, ive been doing ebay for the last 5 years, in that time Ive learned the right/wrong way of doing this.

I couldnt be fucked paying 80$ in fees once when i first started out and got my account disabled, etc, all dumb shit like that, but since then im a lot smarter with ebay.

    Anyways,

Ebay is really untapped as far as implementing offers/cashing in etc when someone wins (or in my cases, dont win but I make them win anyway).

    its like this.

For this quick example, ill say Im selling 10 Britannica Encyclopedia 2009 books, and I only list that in the auction.

    Milking 1

Now, I create a second ebay account, and save it in a text file named 'ebay upper' , and the sole purpose of this account is to just up my auction to an amount that covers cost and makes it worth my time (profit wise).

Once ive reached that mark, I stop the ebay upper ( and the ebay upper only comes into play usually the last 1 hour of my 5 day auctions, as thats when people bid cause they are paranoid lol)

    Milking 2
Now, if my ebay upper gets too greedy (that bastard ;)) and actually wins the auction,
    and say
Ebay upper wins the auction at 150.00$ + $20.00 insurance/postage
    user 2 bidded $140.00 .
    User 1 bidded $130.00

I send 1 message to user 1 and 2 telling them that even though they didnt win, I could work out a deal with them and sell them another set of Britannica encyclopedia books that I have lying around, for their final bid price.
And because they were unlucky in the bidding and I feel for them, I will throw in FREE registered postage and insurance with their order.

Now see what I did there?

I just made 2 sales (Remember, I only had to make 1 to cover what I consider to be enough for my profit margin)
and I can accept the fees of free postage, because having 2 sales with 1 listings fee, and 70% profit of what I sell, Its fucking great.

Now some of you are thinking, How would you do the checkout for them, wont they bitch and say you do another listing so i can safely checkout?

No, My ebay feedback speaks for myself, and they trust me, more importantly I give them the option of doing a bank deposit or checkout via a paypal money request sent to their email (after I ask them for their email)

    and voila.

    Milking 3

Ok, so this follows Milking 1,

After they agreed to pay you for that price, you say to them,
'if your interested, and I never do this in my auctions, I will sell you 3 new Britannica Encyclopedia 2010 books with Free atlas for only $30.00 more.*

Now, I milked that sucker out of some more money selling him something that wasnt of any 'real' value, but because hes already buying from me, they feel like they want the complete set of books, so of course they will pay it.

once again, what you should learn here is, and What I use to learn in Ewh()re is YOU MILK MILK MILK.

    SUMMARY
*1.First milking: Fake Ebay Upper account to get my auction to a price I want

(why dont I set it at the price to start with to cover costs? because that scares away too many people and you might as well load up a gun and shoot yourself in the foot)

*2 2nd Milking. If 3 people bid on my auction and all those 3 are over my 'profit margin' amount, then I will send all 3 a message telling them they can win, only if I have 3 of whatever im selling in stock to cover those 3 sales of course!

    * 3 3rd Milking: I send them another message, once they agree to pay for it but before they do pay for it, saying ' oh, btw, Ive got this ____ that I didnt really want to sell, but ill sell it to you for only $xx.00 or $xxx.00 more

Dont spring this offer on them before they agree to pay their bidding amount, because you will scare them away. Because you messaged them first and they agreed, you now have some Rapport with them,

and they see you as a 'guy trying to help them out' instead of a 'guy trying to sting them 5 times before sun down

Any questions, I will do my best to answer in this thread.

    * Noobs dont pm me, I see any noob questions in the pm box, ill just delete it without reading, so dont waste your time or mine,
    * I wont tell you about a method thats been making me constant money on and off for 5 years. Thats fucking suicide.
    * I NEVER DO BUY IT NOW. Thats fucking stupid unless you need quick money and your in financial hardship, dont do it.

Just helping some people out here, no hidden intentions or ajenders or anything, just doing my best to 'earn my keep' at this great forum.

Feel free to bounce ideas off me in this thread or contribute something else using any example so we can help each other, or pm/whatever, ( I said ideas, not ask for my method.)

I really hate to see people express themselves this way.
You are doing business with people. They buy from you, they trust you with their credit.
I assume you are very young, but this way or the other, I hope you will learn someday that this is not how you relate to the people who give you money for food.

With this being said, thanks for the share my friend.

Actually, your a bit naive if you think 'age' has any factor when it comes to making money, my bank account speaks for itself,

I made 600$ last week from 1 listing.
Truth is the facts speak for themselves. You think half the 'internet gurus' out there that repackage repackaged material you can find on youtube for free, arent making millions from selling Crap with 'no real value' to 'suckers' ...

If your not getting a slice of that cake sir, you are missing out.

ill trow my own twist hope this helps few things about ebay they also use their website like google so the more you add keywords to your listing the more you get targeted buyers. Also if you items gets more that 35 views the it is post at the top of the listings good way to do this is post an add on cl and say is .01 does not matter what the real price is on ebay cause you will get tons of views, getting you item at the top of the page, you can also use twitter to post you add just say something I found this great auction for just a penny check it out ...... your link and now you have a few hundred visitors to your item.
    hope this helps
I just paid $80 buck on isertion fees so yea stick it to the man... the Ebay Man

    That's not what I meant,
I only relate to the title of the thread and some other words expressed in the post (Suckers, etc.).
I used to speak this way myself, I am not judging you, I only explain that there should be a behavior code wherever you are, especially in business; You are not milking them, you offer them additional products they might be interested in, which is fine and acceptable.

And as for age - Of-course, age expresses experience, not the amount of money you are making.
You can be very young and successful in making money, there is no doubt. I only felt I want to comment the attitude.

Thanks for posting, and take care.

@SUAVE: Thanks for the share! Good stuff there my friend!

@BROSS: "There's a sucker born every minute" is a phrase often credited to P.T. Barnum (1810 ? 1891), an American showman. It is generally taken to mean that there are (and always will be) a lot of gullible people in the world. AND THANK GOD FOR THAT!!!;)

Do you use a proxy with your "upper account" ? I just used a second PC in the house on the occasions i have needed to do that.

@pofecker, usually 3 days or 5 days, im not fussy as theres no rush for money :)

@ Crunch , no proxy needed, and if you win your own auction, and no one ends up taking the 'second chance offer' make a claim back again your 'upper account' and say he didnt pay, and worse case senario, your upper account gets deleted, you get your fees back, and you make another ebay account in 2 minutes.

I thought like on your upper account they can trace the IP and nail you for bumping the bids and both accounts would get banned...

    Thanks

    Have a blessed one...

great tips, i used to do this when i was an ebay seller, but i stopped because of there fees and forcing you to use paypal, and creating new paypals, and ebays are a pain. Do you know of a free way to create new (verified) paypals?

profanity is only what you view it to be. the word f#ck holds a bad meaning because some people say it does. sex and fu(k can mean the same thing, no? but sex is acceptable by most. it is a bit crazy when our world is plagued with problems but people make a fuss over a word that does absolutely no harm to anyone (unless your being cursed out). $hit and poop can both mean the same thing correct. but people say poop all the time, why is $hit any different? sure you should watch your mouth when your around children purely out of respect. but we are all adults here (i would like to believe).

I don't swear much, but i do believe the whole "forbidden" words thing is BP(bull poop lol).

As some of the others have said, I don't really think this is anything new to be honest BlackBoxer and is what most experienced eBayers having been doing for years. I only ever list one auction if I have multiple items (in order to restrict supply) and then give second chance offers if I'm happy with the price.

    It's pretty straightforward stuff really...

Essentially you have multiple of the same items but only place one auction.

You then use a second account to up the final auction price. (Totally against eBay rules of course...I tend to ask family and friends to submit a bid if I feel the price is too low).

You then make second chance offers to the unsuccessful bidders...a facility which has been available on eBay for a long time and, of course, there is no guarantee that all of them will accept...the bidding frenzy has subsided and then may feel that they don't really need that particular item after all.

You then present them with an upsell...which is pretty standard marketing.

One interesting point with this is that I can always tell when a seller is trying to "play" me in this way, as recently happened when I was the only bidder for 2 random separate items from the same seller. Out of the blue, a zero rated eBayer outbid me on these 2 specific items yet didn't bid on any of the others. I just thought f**k it and walked away!!
