damn the new ebay changes are ruining a lot of powersellers (including me)

do you know somewere else were we can sell our digital items??

Have you considered listing your digital items as being for sale on CD, with the option of instant digital delivery? Don't you think most customers would choose the digital route? And this way you are selling within the TOS ebay set...So it would seem
 
You are not allowed to give the option of instant digital delivery (someone on the ebay radio said that).

Yes you can like JonD6996 said put the files on CD. The owner of MyDD even develops a tool where this is automated. Crazy!

Means: You get the order. The software automatically sends a job to a CD manufacturing and publishing service (kunaki). The CD automatically gets shipped to the customer. Easy! It will be similar as ebooks. Sure there are some positive and negative points....
 
I am starting a service that will offer to drop ship the ebooks from ebay for a reasonable cost - I am working on the website now - hopefully I will have it up by the first of april.

I knew when I first heard about the changes at ebay that some smart folks would see this as an opportunity... glad to see a BHW member is among that grouping.
 
http://www.ddbid.com is working on launching to allow all digital download products to be sold in an ebay type format.

I don't think they have many users yet as they haven't done an advertising launch, but with the growing hate of eBay they could be a huge traffic site in no time.

I figure a bunch of sites like this will be popping up in the near future.

Love them or hate them - eBay is here to stay - people will always buy and sell there - just like all the other "rules" changes in the past - you have to adjust and find another angle.

I am sort of glad about the new "digital rules" it gave me another niche to exploit and it will get rid of alot of "riff-raff" selling the same old rehashed crap.

Just my two cents

I agree 100% with you. I've never be so happy to see all the sh*t taken off of ebay to pave the way for sellers like me. Again you can either look at this as a road block or an opportunity to completely stand out on eBay. The choice is yours.
 
I'm assembly a team to handle cd marketing on ebay. It looks like a really profitable field. I think this is going to be a golden oppurtunity, and if people that want to get in on this, I already have a pretty good setup and I'm planning to start turning the gears real soon.

I'm thinking mlm type videos with actors etc.
 
In case it isn't clear, the new rules don't allow you to sell digital delivery items via the auction format; they can still be sold thru the classified ad format. Opinions on this vary, but I see this change as an oppty. to cater to 2 different types of buyers.
 
ebay will never go down. It's a household name. If you don't like the rules, think of ways to work around them.

eBay china went bankrupted try www.ebay.com.cn why? because the chinese hate ebay and there sh*tty paypal system! They prefer Taobao.com and Alipay.com which is based on an escrow system.
Its a shame that so many people trust and like ebay/paypal yet there security is lacking in many areas though.
 
Nice, I love china, where the google doesn't roam, and the paypal stays home.
 
you got the wrong link there. It's www.ebay.cn which is still active. Not sure what they're doing there exactly since I can't read Chinese. eBay so far has lost in China because Taobao doesn't charge fees. eBay made a colossal mistake of not destroying their parent company Alibaba when eBay acquired 50% stake in GlobalCrossings. Alibaba was a paid B2B service funding Taobao. GlobalCrossing could have easily offered the same service but do it for free. It was kill 3 birds with one stone. That's the problem with a woman CEO. They don't want to kill the competition.
 
I believe that tom.com owns ebay cn though, and if you want to sell international you need to be HK verified.
I am not 100% but I think ebay cn put there listings for free, but the buzz in china is no one uses ebay they love taoboa.
Yeah eBay made many mistakes in Asia, what happaned to eBay Japan? :P
