Ebay Dropshipping Experiment

Hey all, will try to keep this thread updated on my experiment. In advance i'm sorry for my mistakes, English is not my native language. So here what this is about:


My work is very simple, I'm selling things on Ebay. No I am not selling my own stuff, I dropship. For those who do not know what it is, I will explain simply:
The customer pays for the desired item -> I order it from a supplier -> supplier sents directly to my client -> PROFIT

I'm doing all of this for quite a long time, and I am doing quite well, I work only with this work and I have lots of free time, so for my entertainment (and extra income), I decided to do a simple experiment:

If I start everything from the beginning, how long it would take and what difficulties would be on my way to that, what I achieved today, but this time, I have accumulated a wealth of experience, which I did not have before.

In short, I started eBay business from 0 (again), that is what I have done until today:
? I bought a VPS hosting (~ $18), so that I can create a new identity. Ebay and Paypal do not like multiple users from the same IP address.

? I have created a new eBay and Paypal users and confirmed everything.

? 1 day chose what to sell, I wanted to start with something new.

? Since I am new and my feedback is (0), people's confident decreases by 80%. Before selling, bought a few needed things for myself or for other people, and completely unnecessary cheap items. Now my score is: (16) 100% positive.

? Listed 4 things at the start, because as a new user I have limits: 10 items or $ 1,000. I remember when I started before, there was no such limit, you could list 100 items per day, of course if I were from the USA and would confirmed my bank account i could have higher limits, but I will leave it as it is. Few weeks latter, when I will have good selling feedback, I will call eBay and ask higher limits.

? For my disaster, eBay now is even more strict, than before. Almost all of my listings were removed, leaving only one, headphones, 7 day auction no limit. Beyond that, I can not sell any items until December 17th 2012.

? I am pleased that auction ended for quite a decent amount - $51, when I pay for it only $30.09. This one item will pay eBay fees and VPS hosting for a whole month, everything else is pure profit.

I don't know mate but you need to consider the future disasters and i mean... Somebody can buy an item from you , you pay the wholeseller , he sent the item and then ..the buyer can have problems with that item . You will be responsabile for this and you'll need to give him money back or another item.

If you buy from a chinesse , you will have big problems . I have a friend which had exactly this problem . He sold some chinesse tablets on ebay with 50$ more but some tablets was broken and then he was responsable for this. His chinesse ran away and he paid around 2k dollars from his wallet. So, he lost a bunch of money..

Take the OP with a grain of salt. He posted the same thing on WF linking to his crappy blog. Your "experiment" means nothing to people if you aren't showing where you get the item from, past sales history, or even what the item actually is.

I do not see any experiment here or nothing unusual.

The risk is when the customers see the chinese signs, they may refund the money from you in purpose and it may be very difficult for you to prove that the item has been shipped. other hand if the customer is satisfied its ok.

Depending on what item your thinking about drop shipping I would seriously consider doing a remail or keeping some stock within the country you want to ship it from.
