hello .i lost ranking because of my sites bad speed ( im 90% sure it was the reason for some keywords at least).
im trying to rank for some easier keywords now
my question is does going for whey protein 10lbs ( for category page ) is better choice than protein nigeria for example .

more info from free ahref
first Keyword Difficulty 0 easy u need 0 backlinks
second Keyword Difficulty 10 easy and u need 11 backlinks to rank top 10

If there are/is week sites are ranking in top 10 you have higher chance of ranking. Ahrefs has that filter try it out.
0(-100)dr in top 5
0(-100)dr in top 10
Google
allintitle:keyword
To find out how many sites are targeting the keyword. Lower the value better it is. Ideally if you can find keywords with 0 allintitle.

I’d go with whey protein 10lbs. It’s more spnigeria shows clear buying intent, and is much easier to rank for right now. Protein nigeria is too broad and usually dominated by bigger local sites, so it’ll be harder to move.

Yes, the first keyword is a better choice because it is easier to rank and needs fewer links.

i can see only 3 .first 2 have 0 and third has 22 but its from a different country. i tried allintitle i got over 5000 in first page but when i go to page 10 i got 67

Go for the KD 0 keyword first.
Easier recovery after speed issues and faster results.
Target harder keywords later once performance stabilizes.

Imo, “whey protein 10lbs” is the better choice

It’s more specific, clearer intent, and usually easier to rank

Fix your speed first though, even easy keywords won’t stick if the site is slow.

After a speed hit, I’d always start with the most intent-driven, narrow keyword, not the one that just looks easier on Ahrefs. “Whey protein 10lbs” fits a category page perfectly and matches buyer intent, while “protein nigeria” is broad, local, and usually controlled by strong domains. Fix speed first, then let easier, specific keywords stabilize your site again before moving up.

Hi there! If your site's speed is still a problem, my recommendation is to prioritize keywords that are simpler to rank for. It would appear more prudent to target "whey protein 10lbs" rather than "protein Nigeria" due to the lack of backlinks required for the former. Make sure your approach is always up-to-date and doesn't cut corners that could get you in trouble with the platform's regulations.

Yes, targeting “whey protein 10lbs” is the better choice because it’s more specific and has lower competition, making it easier to rank even with limited backlinks. Also, improving site speed is important, but focusing on long-tail, buyer-intent keywords will give faster and more stable results.

If your site is still recovering, it’s usually better to target the really easy keyword first. So “whey protein 10lbs” in your case. You can rank it without backlinks, get some traffic, and build authority.

“Protein Nigeria” is slightly harder and will need more links, so it’s better to try once your site is stronger. Starting with the easiest wins helps you gain momentum.

Hello aghilass,
Targeting whey protein 10lbs is likely the safer starting point for recovery since KD 0 usually offers a quicker path to ranking without needing heavy backlinks. Geo specific terms like protein Nigeria can be deceptive because local brands often dominate those serps regardless of what the metrics show. I would suggest securing the easier long tail win first to rebuild traffic and trust before tackling the competitive geo term. However, ensure your speed issues are fully resolved, or even low-competition pages will struggle to index properly.
