Hi everyone, hopefully this is the right section.
I've been working with someone on a JV project. My role is to write the content and we now have over 100 pages worth of content. My partner doesn't seem to be pulling his weight too much with the SEO side of things which is really frustrating as I've been working hard.
My question is this. If I were to pull out of the JV I would like to continue solo. I don't want to lose months of work though that have already been written. We split everything equally, but he owns the site and it is located on his hosting. I don't know if the search engines would slap a penalty on my new site if I started out with 100 pages of duplicate content, even though I had written it. Is there a way to do this without incurring any sort of penalty, or using some sort of webmaster tools to confirm I am owner of the content and so can continue.
I don't want to appear to be scamming the other person, but it is infuriating to put hours of work in and not feel like the other person has done their fair share, but still gets to benefit from my hard work.
Thanks
