If you have your post in multiple categories, is that considered dup content? Even if the blog has one static url? ex...

mysite.com/category1/blogpost1

mysite.com/category2/blogpost1

Now multiply this example by 50 blog posts and you can have a lot of posts in both categories. However when you view, they will be with different content ex...

category 1 ..............................category 2
----------- ..............................-----------

blog1 ...................................blog1
blog2 ...................................blog3
blog4 ..................................blog4
blog5 ..................................blog5
blog6 ..................................blog7

and on and on...

so kind of duplicate, kind of not....

It is not considered Dup content... I do it all the time as I like to have my articles in more than one category.

You articles will rank as well as the categories if you do that and you backlink the category pages.

booyah, thanks for the tip...

I was always under the assumption that it would be dupe content. BTB could you explain why it is not?

It would be considered as dup content only if G finds it on a different URL.I mean a different domain!

Thanks - the above makes sense now...even I always thought it would be considered duplicate content..

There is no duplicate article issue. Because there is a link to original post in both category.

Yes, that would be kind of duplicate content.. to make the things easy and avoid any kind of penalties, you can block crawlers from crawling duplicate content.

You can restrict crawlers by placing robots.txt files.

I've never had a problem doing it and that was before and after Panda, so i'm guessing that it's OK!

Gotta do what we can to stay ahead!
